Still haven’t found a workshop that will do the HIGJ Pressure Fuel Pump cam follower for less than $500

But I did discover my bonnet strut pivot end has lost its rubber grommet and rattles !

Anyone else got a pic of what the bonnet strut pivot Gromet should look like ?

Its a 20 minute job. Just do it yourself - its pretty basic.

Yes I see a few posts saying easy.

As I understand it you remove the lines and the pump and replace the follower. Seems straight forward.

Of course that means a gasket and making sure the fuel lines are depressurised and then bled free of air.

What could possibly go wrong with a HIGH pressure fuel pump ?

DOES ANY ONE HAVE Actual experience with this. I’d love to know what to buy ahead of doing it. I really don’t want to get stuck with a leaky gasket.

I already learnt that just ignoring the little o ring on the dipstick has dire consequences.

        TIA

Follow the first 12 steps in the DIY I did a few years back. I never changed the o ring as my car only had about 10,000km on it at the time, but it would probably be a good idea to replace the o ring now that these cars are getting older. Autotech HPFP Upgrade full DIY guide with pics

VAGParts in Sydney would be able to source you the genuine o ring. Volkswagen Scirocco Parts, VW Scirocco Car & Auto Parts
