I bought rims from 'Street Wheels & Tyres' on the southside (springwood) and the guy said he could fix gutter rash for 40$ a wheel if i ever needed. I'm thinking you could find someone closer to redcliffe though.
An old thread I know but I'm also after someone who can do wheel repairs, bought a Mk7 and the owner before took some nice gouges out of the 19s.
I'm Brisbane North side if anyone has any suggestions?
I have used both, for a machined face alloy, pick the 1st for any other pick the 2nd.

Cheers,
The machined rims are quite costly to repair as they require being put onto a lathe and milling off a very small amount of alloy to effectively grind away the gutter rash. I also recently purchased a Mk7 GTI with a good amount of gutter rash on all 4 of its 19" rims, and got quoted $340 per rim to have them repaired (they also repaint the clear coat finish on them after they have been on the lathe). Its quite a long process, hence the cost.
A mobile rim repairer can not fix the machined rims - it needs to go to a dedicated machine shop who specialise in machined wheel repairs.
I used the opportunity to justify getting aftermarket wheels as the difference was minimal.
I've had two MK6 Detroit machined faced wheels guttered and repaired by Wheel Solutions in Melbourne.
The first was about 7 years ago - cost $200, The second was about 3 years ago for $220.
The face is slightly machined to remove the scratch, then the clear coat is re-applied. The repairs are awesome - most people could not tell which wheels have been repaired.
In Brisbane such a machined face repair can cost between $240 and 280 typically these days.
