My car is so old it doesn't have park assist - Mk5 MY2008. With the upgrade to MIB2 and a rear parking camera. However, as quickly as the error message came - it isn't appearing now. I will check ODBC and see if there are any codes though - thanks.

    • I've been referencing this thread for the last year and figured I should post my thanks and observations from the installs I've done.

Instructions on the first post for Dynaudio worked great for my factory installed setup on my 2008 Passat Wagon 3.6 4Motion. I did change byte 4-7 in the long coding to Sound System installed even though it wasn't mentioned here.

I had the strangest issue where I wasn't able to reach 5F and I almost thought my headunit was faulty/previously hacked. Thankfully I have a 2009 Passat around still so I plugged it in there and found it was perfectly fine. Did most of my coding, MIB toolbox, and firmware updates there then swapped it back. This leads me to believe there is some CAN incompatibility with the gateway on the 2008(3C0 907 530 E). It was still able to communicate though as the radio gets steering wheel, clock, and temp messages when installed in the 2008.

Check out the project here, Dropbox

The HBA/Runlock/Automatic start/Brightness PCB module add this missing CAN message to allow the newer modules to work correctly.

I think you can also set the brightness manually via the adaptation channels, but this is a fixed value (So might be too bright at night)
Another note is that I had this daytime screen brightness issue on my 2009 and 2008. The HBA FLA board did fix this. I'm trying to get another, but waiting for the seller's response as he only sells via email.

I haven't been able to find a clear answer about PDC/OPS. I have 3C8 park assist, but no RVC. RVC is low on the list of mods/retrofits as it's not as easy to do an OEM retrofit on the 2008 tailgate due to different latch opening size compared to 2009+ that was shared with other models and PDC works well enough.

If I set the following will I be able to get the OPS/Park Pilot working with my original 3C8 module? Or do I still need to get a 1K8 module and adapter harness? Will the 1K8 module work okay with a 3C0 gateway(I've read it's okay on RossTech)? Are there any differences in using a 1K8 919 475 B vs 1K8 919 472 A for a B6 application?
