Thank you I will try Verbatim, is it better to try Rewritable DVD or normal ?
More precisely which fix should I try before loading 5238, as I saw there are 3 different ones ?

        “Unofficial SWL recovery CD
        Download Location 1: swl_fix.iso (3.75MB)”

        Or under

        “Skoda Columbus (RNS 510) Fix

        1xxx/2xxx firmware
        Download: Location 1
        Filename: 2760_sk_fix.rar
        Size: 3.84mb

        3xxx/4xxx firmware
        Download: Location 1
        Filename: 4020_sk_fix.rar
        Size: 3.9mb
(thanks to Josi for these fixes)

        Much appreciated 🙂

          Try the last one.
I would use write once rather than rewritable.

Hello and thanks for the help, i finally got the courage to do the firmware downgrade to 5238 "ORIG". It went through with no problems but did not fix the issue and i got the same error messages about the languages. It actually kept all my map files too so i don't believe it did a full wipe of the system. After the downgrade i had lost my mdf display so i decided to check the coding. The coding had not changed after the downgrade but i tried to change a setting any way to make sure i was still able too do so, for some reason it would say code accepted but would not actually change?. I then tried upgrading back to 5269, which went through without an issue. I still didnt have my MDF display but it came back after a reset while the car was running. I was also once again able to change the coding in my unit with vcds and it would accept and change, but it hadn't changed anyway from what it was. I am back where i started with everything working again but still have the error about the languages every time i turn the unit on. Also just trying to change from english male to female does not solve the issue it just try's to load and crashes with the same error message.

It should then prompt for the map CD to load the required files if they aren't found.
Failing that I would reload the firmware.
Yes there are some units that seem to have stability issues with 5274.
5238 is the most widely stable version across all units.
To load this you will need to enable software downgrade in the secret menu, or follow the prompts when trying to load a previous version.

It doesn't sound like a proper factory firmware upgrade if your maps partition and coding was preserved.
Was this the update you used?

Hay Kamold, thanks again for the assistance. That is definitely the ISO i used i also downloaded it again just to be sure. I see there is a ISO that changes the harddrive size partitions maybe this will do a full wipe? also why do you think it would not let me recode the unit after i changed the firmware but would work again on 5269. Cheers.

                    Check your email.
I've sent a link to a bunch of different firmware files.
I'm not sure which ones are factory and which aren't.
But you need to do more than just delete the hard drive contents. You need a full installation of firmware to all the flash modules in the RNS.
I would try downgrading to the earliest version first, then once everything is working upgrade to the usual 5238 with custom hard drive partition ratios.
If the earliest doesn't work, increment upwards until you get it working.
