So update to this.

I've downloaded the FW and made an ISO image however when installing it I get the following error:



I've downloaded a recovery FW that I found somewhere else and it got it back to a state with no errors (FW isn't actually usable though, just there to recover after error like this)
After I got it back I tried again, same result, and then I tried an old disk I had with 4020 on from the last time I updated a year or 2 ago and it had the same issue.

Would this be caused by the mismatch I have shown earlier?

My part number is 1T0035680D and currently have FW 4120 on it.
However I saw on another site that my part number equates to HW Vehicle 0xC801, 0xCA01 or 0xCC01
But my problem is on my system info I have a HW vehicle of 0xC201.

Unfortunately that's likely faulty hardware. Unless you are handy with reading and writing eeproms you're best sending your unit for repair to someone like rns510repairserviceuk124.bravesite.com

Do you think it is related to the new Hard drive that was installed? As I assume it's still in warranty.
Either the issues standalone, or the way that it is showing a mismatch between the part number and the HW type?

Hello, i have problem with a RNS 510 in an amarok i have recently purchased. Every time i turn on the vehicle i get a message saying the desired language could not be loaded, then another saying "The language could not be changed. No voice out possible please try to reload the required language". Once I hit ok everything works except the voice out. I have updated the map pack since these photos which did not help. I also downloaded the next firmware available 5274 but am uncertain of trying it due to stability issues i have read about and the possibility of losing my reverse camera and mfd. I have purchased a ross tech vcds lead and can access the CAN bus but was wondering if anyone has seen this before or can help with a solution.
My unit is a 1T0035680L, H09, 5269.

What if you go into language and select English (male) or English (female) whichever one you didn't have loaded before?
It should then prompt for the map CD to load the required files if they aren't found.
Failing that I would reload the firmware.
Yes there are some units that seem to have stability issues with 5274.
5238 is the most widely stable version across all units.
To load this you will need to enable software downgrade in the secret menu, or follow the prompts when trying to load a previous version.

Rns510

Hi🙂 my RNS510 keeps restarting, only shows the VW welcome screen then reboots again as a cycle. Few days back it made it to the menu after like 5-10 minutes of rebooting, did a system reset, didn’t help as now it only reaches the welcome screen.
Can’t access the secret menu for the version. it is a EOS 2014 from Portugal.
Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

I think what might fix this is to load a 'factory' firmware image. This will delete EVERYTHING on the unit including the coding, maps, media, settings etc. But should also hopefully load all the files correctly.
Try the 'ORIG' version of 5238 linked off Maverick's site:

Try loading the 'josi fix' firmware. Then if the the unit is able to boot up, load 5238 ORIG.
If after loading the josi fix image the unit is still not able to boot then you likely have a hardware issue with the unit

Result was Gateway Error etc

Then I tried:

“It will attempt to restore a new SWL process and will enable it to boot up. (Thanks again to Josi)

Download Location 1: swl_fix.iso (3.75MB)”
Result was: ERROR 010301

Any thoughts ?

Make sure you are burning at slowest possible speed using imgburn or cdburnerxp
