Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Thanks a lot karmold. It worked!

I also made a couple of other changes like enabling AM radio. Not that I listen to AM much but can be useful when in remote areas and for the news

Does that mean my particular infotainment unit has DAB+ radio? Or just the ability to work with a VW DAB+ add on module? I could see some option in the 5F module on the OBD11 for DAB but thought it was referring to something else (i.e. the DAB thing in the Green Menu)

I know this is slightly off topic but are there any settings in 5F that affect radio station preset memory?

It should have a black dab connector on the back.
Plug in a dab antenna and you have dab as long as it's not disabled in coding.

I have downloaded the 23GB rest of the world package but cant see how to delete the countries I dont want

Firstly I downloaded the file to my computer. Then I decided to do it using Discover care to d/load and install on and Sd card
Have done it but dont really want all the countries on it.

A how to so that I dont get them all would be nice thanks

          Hi everyone,

Quick question. I am shipping my 2017 Tiggy from Sydney to Auckland next month (new job)

Does anyone know if DAP and Sat nav will work, and if not, what I can do about it?

          Thanks,
          Steve

Satnavs should work anywhere but you will need a NZ map in it or you will only have the base map I guess

I have just returned form a 2000km trip and have to admit I don't think the nav system is good enough to even bother with an update. I was lucky or perceptive enough to having paper maps with me to get out of trouble a few times on the trip.

the AU and NZ maps are both the same MRM (rest of the world) maps - so ur navigation maps will continue to work here.

If I've successfully downloaded the new maps to a SD Card and my head unit can recognise it but indicates (in the SWDL menu) that the new map version is 'N/A', what could be stopping the upgrade from proceeding?

I downloaded the recent 23.2gb file to a 32gb card and the car updated. At 18% it failed. The system rebooted and attempted to co tongue, but failed without progressing. I cancelled it and the map is saying aus/nz are 2019, but the rest of the date says 2017/2018 and I don’t know if the actual firmware/software of the headunit has updated.

I believe the maps were successful, as navigating around the recent south road works, near port Rd(Adelaide) the map is showing the new layout, whereas pre-update attempt, it wasn’t.

As a completionist, though, I’d like to have everything up to date.

                        Any tips are welcome!

                        Cheers.

the P76 (ROW 2019) installed successfully in mine, and the speed signs are still showing as they were before.
                          all good

I have been able to successfully update the Sat Nav also to P76 ROW 2019.
The above download is now available on the ŠKODA update portal; Update portal

Yes, works well. Updated the maps on our brand new Passat Wolfsburg today.

Maps on the car were at 65! Updated to 76 now.

I just downloaded the ROW data and loaded onto USB (exFAT) and it worked fine - took 50min. Might try a Class 10 SD card next time as I think it might be a little quicker.

I downloaded the full 27Gb, but it complained when I wanted to install it to a 64Gb SDXC card. So I found an old 32Gb SD card and installed the Australia / New Zealand maps file only. Then I took the SD card in stuck it in SD1 slot and updated my Discover Pro2 maps. That took approx. 5 minutes in car. The map is working fine.

                                Thank you again.

Are you able to give some details on which files you kept to enable updating AU/NZ maps only? I removed all files that did not refer to AUS or NZ but it says it cannot update as data is missing! My car also has the Discover Pro 2 radio.
