Apparently my unit is a US version and I will keep having the same problems with searching for street on any firmware update???

It is highly unlikely that you have a US version, although not impossible. Why do you suspect this?
Pull the unit out from the dash enough to take a look (and photo) of the sticker on the top. This has the information you need about part number, firmware version etc.

Well it always helps to know all the info at the start or you could brick the unit by not telling us and we inadvertantly give you wrong advice.

SO DONT load what we have told you as you will see that the firmware is NOT SUITABLE for USA versions.

As in the OP of the other thread "Also this is definately NOT suitable for North America units."

You will have to go to one of the othere VW sites and look for suitable firmware.

So the part number I see on the screen isn't enough and I should take the unit out and look at the sticker? What's the easiest way to get pic of sticker with out taking it fully out?

The firmware version you have suggests its an EU unit. In which case load 5238.
You'll have to explain why you think otherwise.

Looking around it seems the part number equates to a USA vers

Pop the surround off carefully, undo the 4 screws, pull unit forward, read and photograph the sticker. Post here. Only way to do it
