Rns510 help!?

Hey guys I just bought a mk5 golf gt sport that has a rns510. It all works fine but I can not search street names when I won't to navigate somewhere.

It has the latest maps and j have the original v8 disk.

This is what the software info says

Hw version h03
Sw version 2604
Maps Australia nz and the latest v8

Any help or tips would be great???

Upgrade to SW 5238 from here

Define "it all works fine"... Are you talking about everything else other than the navigation or what?


Do you see anything on the map screen? streets and such?

also... have you tried turning it off and on again?

Try goes from 3D to 2D it only shows the street names while the map is in 2D

Sounds about right does that since V5 and is still the same Depends on the amount of zoom you have Have checked on each version and it does it in all of them I use 3D most of the time

Everything on the unit works except when I search for a place to navigate to. I see a map and streets. When I search the postcode works. Type any Main Street and it will not be there

I see them but it will not show up when I'm searching for address

Firstly make sure you have the correct postcode for the strret you want. Some that you think my be in say 9999 may actually be in 9998.

Been caught like that a few times with ones right on the extremities

Or thinking it is in City named Smith when its actually in City named Jones

Had that with a road in the country and ended up not finding the correct road which was only a kilometer from the one it found with a similar name. Because it was in a different named locality.

No matter the street I get nothing show up when I search. It's just blank when I put any street in

As far as I know you have to put the CITY in first then the street

I have tried searching streets on their own and dont get all the alternatives sometimes Maybe reload a map.

But you have to first load an older one and then the latest one. You cant load the same version over itself

Have just gone and tried mine and I have to put either a place or a postcode in first and then go to "street" and hit the list button on the right and it puts all the streets in that area on the screen alphabetically Cant search a street without doing that

Tried that and the streets arnt there just blank boxes
