Has anyone with factory reverse sensors got an android head unit and confirmed the sensors work?

Have factory reverse sensors and they work fine. But If you're referring to ops, can't help you there, my jetta didn't come with ops

Okay probably stupid questions but here goes...

        1. Has anyone got one of these hooked up to a rvc yet and if so, is it any good?

        2. I have factory bluetooth (thingy under my seat). I assume this unit couldnt be integrated as it seems to have its own bluetooth... meaning my bluetooth is redundant right...?

so when you put the car into reverse gear, the android head unit will display the beep and visual closing range thingy?

Sounds like you're referring to OPS (optical parking system) in which case I don't not have. I just have the standard reverse sensors that came with mk5 jettas, so they beep fine when in reverse.

Have hooked up rvc, but need to add a capacitor to keep the current constant. Will update when I get around to it...

Yes your factory bt will not connect to this unit. You use the inferior inbuilt one.
Cheap rvc works well. Fast switch on selecting reverse.

Kamold, have you been able to keep your unit on even after ignition on (key in) like how the stock units used to? I've only been able to manage a few minutes on my unit before it powers itself off. I've even set the acc shut down timer to 30min and still does the same thing.

It stays on, but screen turns off. To keep it fully on you need to be on ACC. But at least if you go to pay for fuel or whatever you don't need to wait for boot.

I installed Neutron music player, much better than the stock player. N7player is good also but Neutron interface is a bit chunkier which suits car usage.

Help please! I've just ripped out the old rcd 300 and connected up the android unit but cannot get power on. I've checked all connections multiple times but can't work it out. Is there a step by step guide somewhere (I've searched but have been unable to find anything).

First things to check will be the fuse in the new head unit itself, and the car's fuse for the radio circuit.

Thanks kamold, I have checked the new unit fuse (all good) and reinstalled the old unit as it was getting late, and the new unit works fine so power is being supplied to the interface cable at least.

I wrote to the supplier and they said I needed a can bus decoder in order to turn it on, if that's the case I'm a bit annoyed as that wasn't mentioned on the listing - it was only referenced in the context of gaining control through the steering wheel.

Do I need a decoder for it to turn on????

Yes, you need one, depends on the supplier as to how they tell you this. If its for VW they normally have the listed price including the decoder.

ok, unit is installed and working (mostly). Wifi doesn't turn on for some reason. I suspect it is something to do with firmware, any clues on how to update a device without wifi?
