Well if he/they are back in town I don't understand why they wouldnot reply to emails stating cash ready to purchase. I'm all for dealing with a local guy but looks like I will just deal direct with Witson.

Fellas,
Have you all actually tried to call (talk as opposed to leave a message) the fella?
I've had instances when either:
- email ends up in SPAM;
- email does not arrive due to a full INBOX (he was away for a period);
- email just does not arrive
We all take email to be reliable - it isn't.
Before crucifying the fella publicly, try and call. If you talk to the dude and he isn't interested, that's completely different.
Believe me, any business that could make a sale and had ready local customers with CASH, would be calling back/replying.
My 2c.
PS And telephone messages can be lost too. I have an Engin voice box that sometimes works - mainly doesn't. My land line has an answering machine that appears to collect a heap of "blank" messages - lots of silent messages. And don't get me started on my Three mobile voicemail - I sometimes get missed messages WEEKS after they are left...need to change providers...

Reason: Edit: Phone messages
I emaled Rob yesterday and am awaiting a reply soon. He knows I am after 2 of these at the moment so I expect that he will contact me as soon as he has his stock.
I agree with multiplex man, all will be sorted shortly.
As soon as I get an email or answer I will post here.
Cheers, and patience fellas,
Andrew

Very good suggestion, "to try calling".
However, I have called on a daily basis (mon-fri) for the past few weeks. All in all, about 20 phone calls. When the facility was there to leave a message, I did, but over the past few weeks, all I get is an engaged signal.
The point of his mobile phone being out of order, is a little shaky, as I am sure, if he were interested in the business, he would have perused the forums (after all, it is a lucrative media without any cost) to see what the chat was regarding his product.

Have you run out of patience Andrew? (cross posting at golfmkv.com)
Ha Steve!
I am starting to lose it for sure. I have 2 customers that have been very patient for over a month now mate with a further 10 interested so far.
Rob at Auspacks knows that and I really would expect some feedback veeeeery soon!
I will keep you posted if I hear from him.
Cheers and good investigation work mate!
Andrew
I am having the same problem - keen to buy the AVC-9000 but cant get a responce from Auspacks.
I understand the problem with getting a similar AVC-9000 unit from witson or one off ebay is that they have not been modified for Australia? is this correct?

What modifications would you expect (to make it suitable for Oz)? Not sure that there are any, having spotted Paul_OH's unit on Sunday (ebay ex HK)...works a treat from the word go.
That one has same/similar specs to Paul_OH's. The Sydney one appears to be loaded with Windows CE 5.0, which is needed if you want to have the latest Tomtom maps.
This unit has the 'knobs' at the base of the unit (a la RNS510)....seems okay, if you are happy with the "BIULD" spelling...but I guess that won't detract fromt he performance.
I am still investigating an RNS unit...but if nothing is forthcoming soon, then Happiness Trading may get a call from me.
Finally a local supplier! Happiness Trading may speaking good engrish not, but look like they can supply goods. I see no downside, providing it is "plug n play". Is someone familiar enough to advise if those leads pictured all all that is required to connect to the Golf V?
Pity they do not have TomTom, but I am sure that can easily be obtained elsewhere.
