V6 Australia Maps

As we're in the process of converting to alphanumeric route numbering in NSW I'm guessing the new route numbers won't be included in v7... Maybe in 2 yrs time

Guys, I have spent many hours trying to get V.6 burnt onto a disk that works, so far no luck. Have used different programs, different brand CD/R and DVD/R and different speeds (slow). Some disk I get "unable to read disk" message immediately while others, just sits there after the first few seconds of buzzing etc.
Can anyone help point me in the right direction pls? I'm in Perth. Thanks!!

I got that error message - I assumed it was the DVD/MP3 logic complaining as afterwards the navigation map update did kick in and work (took an hour I think)

What program are you using to burn it .

You should use IMGBURN at no more than 4 speed to get a good image on a DVD -R

If you get an unable to read disk message when burning it would seem the disc is sus

I have burnt it on Verbatim Tevion and LG and all work, done as above.

Maybe your burner is crook Are you using a PC or a Mac

Ok Hillbilly, will have another crack at it. Have used ISO burner and Nero at low speed 2x or 8x minimum for some. Tried using different computers etc. Will let you know how I go. I'll download the updated file too as mentioned here, apparently different to the one under "LOOK HERE FIRST".

Nero isnt the most wonderful burner at times That image is the good one We had a different one that had problems and I re uploaded that one

Ok, just used Imgburn and burnt at 2X speed, selected burning image file to disk. Verified after, all ok. Without keys, turned on unit, inserted disk. Whirred a few seconds, did not reject, but then silence............nothing, neda, zilch.....just like the ones before.

Just finished installing the V6 map iso file which I downloaded from the Forum sticky thread. All seemed to progress fine except now when I select MAP I do not see any Street names shown. I should add car is just parked in our driveway at present. Does this sound OK or do I possibly have a problem?

Depends whether you have it in 2D or 3D mode and what zoom level.
Put it in 2d and zoom it out and see what happens It seems there are less street names in 3D mode but close adjacent ones appear as you drive past them.. In 2D mode you will see more if you zoom out to over 250m. You may need to go for a drive to get it to know where it is and to get the orientation correct That is depending whether you want track up or North up

Thanks for the quick response Hillbilly. Pouring rain here atm so I won't rush out to try yr suggestions! I have to go out later so I'll check then. Never used a satnav before and only had the Superb for a few weeks so its all a learning experience

To change between North up and Track up touch the compass Icon in top right corner. You should be used to rain down there We have had our first shower in about 7 weeks
