why are you referring to a Dual Layer .iso? It has nothing to do with V6 maps and will confuse many people who rely on threads like this for good, honest, simple and non-confusing information.

Ryan is correct. V6 Aus/NZ maps fit onto a CD-R. CD-R is a much better, stable and less troublesome environment/media for the laser head of the RNS. DVD-R should only be used as a last resort or no other viable option. The media/material thickness of a DVD-R is significantly thicker than a CD-R and makes the laser assembly work significantly harder, possibly reducing the working life of the head.

I don't own the map disc and I thought it was DVD. Apologies for that mistake, but my post was more targeting file servers since there were several suggestions and even megaupload popped up.

Map version V5 is 621mb on the disc I have so will only need a CDR

i found my RNS read burnt DVDs 100% of the time, but with CDs, not so.

if someone can get my a copy of the ISO. happy to host it, got plenty of space and bandwidth.

Everyone is a little bit right and a little bit wrong. v6 is a dvd, but its only got 600 or so megs of content so yes, you can stick it on a cdr voa an iso. Im not the one to do it though as i dont have enough of a data limit to upload it.

if its a DVD image youll need to burn it to a DVD for it to work properly. yes you can burn small ones to CDs, but probably with less success.

I downloaded the V6 maps and burn them to a CD - my RNS would not read/process it
I then burnt the image to a DVD - the RNS processed it immediately - I now have V6 maps

Got the image, burnt to a cd. Updated the maps on the commute in this morning. Thanks for tuzii's efforts in getting the iso uploaded.
