V5 map for example is based on Sensis 2011 (Q1) database.

All else being equal, V6 will be 2012 Sensis map.

So 5hithouse by portable GPS unit standards!

Yep can confirm based on the toc file, V6 is from Sensis 2012 (Q1) database.

So the latest 1 year old map!

Well everyone don't bother going to Epping vw in Victoria got the normal level of customer service from vw, 20 min wait as the parts guy was missing action only to check that they don't have any disc can't even order one ... Well other dealers seem to be selling, crazy they must be on the New Zealand ordering system I thought to myself and Walked out..., any body find any on Melbourne yet?

I wouldn't if I was you, bother ringing VWA. They'll probably tell you there's no V6 map and current one you have on the unit is the latest.

You can use imgburn to make it into an .iso and then upload it. Google drive is the best since it doesn't make you wait to dl or cap the speed.

I drove on V6 maps along the new Peninsula link freeway from which bypasses Frankston in Melbourne and joins the old Dromana freeway. Most of my drive was through paddocks according to nav.

Sheesh...they have been building the thing for years and only small portions display as "proposed freeway"

Anyone see if the poi database is improved? From what I could tell it was pretty rubbish. Oh and in terms of the tmc stuff, it now searches for it but if course can't access any of them. I don't think it even searched before.

The number of POIs included has increased. Whether they are 'rubbish' is not arbitrary, as we all have different interests and needs.

I injected aussietigs latest POI file into the CD before installing it in the car so I wouldn't know. The graphics look a bit sharper/nicer, and it'll be interesting to see if the speed limit data on freeways is fixed and if the zoom out bug has been resolved.

I can assure you (from a WA perspective)...prescribed speed limits are now accurate.
