What's the difference between "Boost" and "!Boost" ?

Also i'm not convinced the Exhaust temp is reading correct, can someone else check that?

With exhaust you have to compare with VCDS and what is labelled for your ecu code. Other wise have an external temp gauge to compare it with. Post your engine code so someone else with same ecu can compare your temps.

I know I have a few egt and cat temps that don't seem correct and can only put it down to mixed up labeling of the temp due to having a uncommon ecu - something I have to verify with VCDS.

Well time has come to say goodbye (from this thread at least).

I've run a number of group buys for the AutoPolar FIS+ over the last 9 months or so and there's quite a few forum members that now have one of these units installed in their cars.

I'm now handing the reigns for AutoPolar locally to another supplier (another forum member) which will give me some time for other ventures.

If anyone still wants a unit I have one left, however after that you'll either need to order from the AutoPolar online shop or from the new local supplier (I'll let them introduce themselves ).

Thanks to everyone for your support and understanding when things didn't go 100% to plan.

I'll still be about the place and will continue to update my build thread with the latest Tig mods... but it's now time to start a new chapter with some new challenges.

Hopefully people have got some use out of the write-ups here as there's often some major differences in location of the CANbus gateway from LHD to RHD.

Also if anyone does one of these installs into a Passat, Scirocco or EOS I'm happy to update the posts at the start with the install guide for these models.

The !Boost i see in negative values (which is kind of what i expected due to vacuum), but the Boost value seems more realistic.. although holding 2-3psi while cruising on a flat freeway at 100-110k/h is a bit suprising... I wouldn't expect any boost pressure when cruising like that... Is that an inaccurate reading? I'm noticing about 18psi when on full boost with maybe a spike to 19-20 on the way... I assume thats normal for standard golf R?

Due to receiving questions about this parameter, we will provide an explanation to try to clear all doubts.

How do I need to configure my PolarFIS to read turbo pressure correctly??

To make a proper turbo reading pressure, normally is not necessary to configure anything in your PolarFIS unit.
There is a configuration inside the unit that automatically selects the best option.
However, there's a few models in which this automatic function doesn't work correctly.
This guide will help you to identify if this is the case for you.

These are available options in the pressure configution menu:

- AUTOMATIC : PolarFIS will select the best option for your vehicle automatically. RECOMMENDED !! (by default)
- INFORT X1 : To obtain the turbo pressure from the infortainment bus.
- INFORT X2 : To obtain the turbo pressure from the infortainment bus. The reading is multiplied by 2 (only vehicles in which the bus only shows half pressure).
- DIAGNOSIS : To obtain the turbo pressure from the diagnostics bus, for vehicles that the other options don't work.


What values does the PolarFIS show in my screen ?? I not have idea ...

The value that PolarFIS displays is the result of substracting the barometric pressure from the boost pressure read from the bus.
This is due to the boost pressure sensor indicating the absolute pressure (BOOST+BAROMETRIC)


But, sometimes I see negative values, why does this happen??

Normally with the engine at idle, there must be some vacuum in the intake manifold, so tehe pressure reading will be negative (around -5 to -15 mbar or -0.07 to -0.2 PSI), this is normal.
However, in some models there's no negative readings and with engine at idle the reading is 0 mbar or PSI, we can't do anything about this because the data is read directly from the Diagnostics bus of the engine ecu.

A small negative reading as indicated is normal, however if you have a reading less than -100 mbar or -1.4 PSI it means that boost is not reading correctly.

In that case, you must enter in the Polar FIS configuration menu, and select SCREEN->VISUALIZATION->ADVANCED->BOOST OPTIONS and choose the option INFORT. x2.

This is due to in some cars, pressure read from infortainment is divided by 2.

If the problem persists or you have no reading of boost pressure, enter in the same menu and choose DIAGNOSTICS option.

Is there a trick in roving the wiper arms in mk6 golf r? I have removed the 2 nuts but the control arms will not budge. Been pulling and tugging but still will not come loose.

They are spring loaded when you have the wipers down one the windscreen. Suggest trying to "park" your wipers and then lift your wiper arms so that they are in pointing up.

Not sure if this will solve your problem but I found if you take the tension off the spring pushing the wiper against the windscreen that this made things easier.

What do you mean 'park' in the service position ie standing up or laying down? Being able to see them when standing
I'm front of the car or not being able to see them when in front of the car, not sure

And once you've done this you can lift your wiper blades off the windscreen so they are sticking straigt up.

I found if I took off the tension from the wiper it was easier to get it off.

I've tried that but the arms will still not

I have heard of others having challenges - seems that some are harder to get off than others.

You could try asking in the tuning section as some of the tuners often need to pull of the wipers/rain tray to get to the ECU on some cars.

They may have some suggestions that could help.

All else fails go via the dash.

I've sometimes had to use a bearing puller when the arms are frozen on (usual cause is corrosion.)

Carefully applied heat might also help.
