finally I get a day off, so I decided to do a bit digging and pulled apart the handle/camera unit, and found that a pin on the camera itself had corroded and snapped, turns out that pin is the 12V pin hence the lack of picture

now kicking myself I didn't try the install earlier, as I sadly can't ask for my money back 6 months after a purchase, will attempt to repair the camera, otherwise I will just have to buy another camera off the internet , thanks for all your help thus far

No power to the camera will do it.

ordered another camera, the badge itself was fine so it only cost me $125 shipped
all working now, thanks again for all your help
