ok, i collected mine and went straight home to install!
our gateway is in a different position (in the octavia), and its a little bit of a PITA to get to. but not impossible. i took photos.
i got it all installed, thankfully i didnt put it all back together again. it worked, but then locked the MFD. im guessing because i have the factory bluetooth module using the 'phone' menu already, when i select it - locks up with some information from the FIS advanced. also gives me a whole load of errors that i had to reset via VCDS.
i enabled the item in the gateway as per the installation instructions. didnt fix it
The_Hawk, yours seemed to work. do you have satnav and/or factory bluetooth? and if so, which one?
i have an RNS510, MDI and 9WZ(whatever the factory one is) BT module
This is what the white (but actually red) screen looks like. You can tell it apart from the true white screen because of the little arrow at the top left.
I hope you didn't have VCDS going at the same time. The Autopolar FIS and VCDS will conflict if you're trying to view the autopolar data at the same time as reading with VCDS. Both devices will try and control the bus. You can either have one or other operate but not both at once.
It sounds like this (or something similar) may be what's happening in your car.

yeah ive been reading the forums on there with problems other people have been having. ill try again tomorrow morning. might be a loose/faulty cable. ill meter them all out to make sure there is connectivity.
might be due to the octavia wheel controls. we have wheels instead of buttons for volume and menu up/down. i guess 'OK' is pushing the wheel.
I just was given the opportunity to walk away from my Novated TOT lease (lost nothing).... bought an NC1 MX5 to run around in whilst a new role settles down and I work out my fixed term contract... all good...
The DSG didn't fall out of it or nuthing the car was perfect ...

Having a Gap Year!!!!
what next?... what next?
Including express DHL freight works out to EUR232 / AUD$284. This is the best deal available that I could find from the Autopolar resellers. You can save a few $ on freight by purchasing in quantity (though this doesn't reduce the unit price).
My god a whole thread about this Reverse mirror option..... I have it without using this module......its called using vcds and going into central convience and activating it via that......the only condition is u need rear parking sensors(factory) to be ale to do it. Nothing to do with seats......the rear parking sensor module actually sends out the signal to the mirror when activated by the reverse gear lever,
