My Golf Mk6 Cab won't do mirror dipping regardless of VCDS setting. Will be interesting to see if this box performs some magic to make it work or if it's simply a matter of them having build in some basic VCDS like coding options that only work if the car itself supports the particular function...

Suppose we will see soon enough.

i'm pretty sure the "having electric seats" is related to the "folding mirrors" feature, provided the hardware (motor + wiring) is there in the wing mirror.

Well looks like the Polar FIS+ is turning out to be quite a little neat "box". And that I perhaps should have called this thread the "mirror dipping" thread instead, as there appears to be much more interest in the dipping feature than some of the other diagnostic data like boost pressure etc...

Though it will be interesting to see how the mirror dipping works in those cars that don't normally support this feature. And then next on the list will be auto folding mirrors - though not sure if it's possible to retrofit as this is definitely going to require some additional hardware. And there's no folding mirror option for the Tiguan anyway so not sure if this is even possible....

We have electric seats in our Tig but mirror dipping still doesn't work so it's not related to that. (have enabled it in VCDS but still nothing)

I think you need electric seats with memory, not just the standard... The memory also stores mirror positions so it makes sense that it can dip and then go back to where it needs to.

I thought memory with electric seats was a given. If that's still another additional option then that's a little greedy of VW...

Don't think Golfs have memory seats and they work. So it's not that!

Like I said before ... it's the door controller module absent in the Tig.

Surely it will only take 5 minutes to install... but then there's a few hours of "play" time to set it up and test it I guess

Have requested that they look into some other measuring blocks also, specifically the DSG blocks that measure clutch temperatures....

What would be really neat is if the unit logged the data also... or stored it to a removable USB. But maybe I'm just asking a bit much now.
