  • Bluetooth problems!! Help!!

    Hey guys!

So my bluetooth is working fine in that I can connect to my car, play music, answer calls and dial numbers BUT i cant save any preset "favourite numbers", cant see my recent calls, dialled numbers etc. Is this normal or is my bluetooth playing up? Also the microphone button on the steering wheel doesnt do anything?? I tried to reset to factory bluetooth settings and it didnt, so i tried deleting the paired devices one at a time but it didnt do that either.
I ask because I only got the car a couple of months ago and have never had these functions. I thought I could figure it out myself but i cant. HELP!!

If its relevant all, I have a 2010 Golf GTI with RCD510 head unit.

    Thanks in advance!

    • Confused newbie

      All,
I've read through the preceeding pages but I can't work out what BT is installed in my wifes 2012 cabrio. I'm trying to work this out for a probable RNS510 install later on. The cabrio has the factory RCD310 and BT install. The MFD shows VW PHONE on startup, and has phonebook and A2DP functions. My assumption is that it is a 9W7, but I know it is bad policy to assume things.
Can someone decode the following and let me know what BT setup I have, and if it will integrate with an RNS510. (will it work with all the RNS510 models?)

      VCDS shows the following:

      • Hey guys, I just bought a 9w7 module to replace the older version (9w3?) in my MY12 Polo GTI (has manual AC controls + RCD 510). I was under the impression that it is simple swap based on what I have read and seen (images and videos).

I tried looking for the module under the driver's seat but can't find it...it has the storage compartment. Could the module be behind it? i.e. I need to remove the drawer to access it or is it behind the RCD 510? Assuming the 9w7 can fit instead of the 9w3, can someone enlighten me as to where can I find this bluetooth module?

If this requires new wiring and stuff, then I am stuffed Am a complete noob in wiring / electronics and such.

        Thanks in advance.

        • Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy a 9w7 bluetooth module to replace the 1K8051730D module (I'm guessing looks like the one in this post http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...tml#post805906) in my partners Polo 77TSI.

Can anyone tell me if the harness connectors on these modules are the same or will I have to order the wiring harness as well?

Also if I go down the path of ordering the full kit will the module with foam cover fit properly under the drivers seat in the Polo (like it does in the Golf/Octavia etc)?

          • Ok I think I've answered my own question with the right combination of search terms in Google. I found a few references to people replacing Volk L bluetooth modules with 9w7 modules and the wiring being plug and play. I'll find out for myself in a few weeks.

            • A couple of questions that I can't seem to find the answer for despite lots of . I currently have a RCD 510 (Bosch 5K0 035 190 (non a or b)) and Novero 9w2 (1K8 051 730 B) and was looking to upgrade to either 9w7 or 9zz.

I understand the 9w7 is plug and play compatible and i won't have change all my wiring. But I can't find out if 9zz is compatible with the same wiring (of course with the addition of the GSM antenna)?

Secondly does anyone know if the Revision M version on 9w7 (7P6 035 730 M) and C or D version of 9zz (3C8 035 730 C / D) compatible with the non A or B revisions of the RCD 510. (Meaning free of any issues with the phonebook)?

              • No streaming from iphone5s

                Hello
I'm not up to date with BT and RCD510.
                .
I have a my 12.5 amarok that originally came with an RCD200.
                I've updated to a RCD510- 5KO 035 190 B
The blue tooth module is a 5KO 035 730 E- dealer fitted? Or factory, it's on top of the transmission tunnel.
                .
The phone works and voice control but the BT music icon is grey and it won't stream music.
                .
What do I need to do to get it to stream music from my phone.
                Regards
                Steve

                    • Hi All

Few months ago I upgrade the Head unit of my 09 tiguan from RCD310 to Bosch RCD510. That works fine, then after few months I bought a Parrot CK3000 evolution bluetooth with 2 connect so I can use the button on my steering wheel. I ask my mechanic to open the gateway for hand free, and that all (box ticked) I try to connect the kit today. I follow the manual how to connect it and all as well. The button on my steering wheel is working, making call or picking up calls. My problem now is.
                      1. It doesn't cut the music when I try to make or received calls.
                      2. My phone pair with the bluetooth but I can't hear any sound coming out to the speakers when I make or received calls.
                      3. The people on the other line can't hear me and I can't hear them.

Have I missed anything, do I need to recode the head unit because I change from rcd310 to RCD510?

                      Thanks Lincoln

                      • Hey again,

When I bought my VW Golt 90TSI we optioned the Fiscon blue tooth. Back in 09 we had Nokia phones and all was great. The blue tooth worked a treat. Then went to Iphone 3 no issues. Now with Iphone 4 and the bloody thing won't work properly . The Menu and everything works fine except when I'm in a call the person receiving my call hears lots of noise ect.

Has anyone experienced this and actually sorted it out

Any help would be greatly appreciated

                        • Looking through the web it seems I might need a firmware update. Anyone performed one of these via blue tooth with success ? Any lessons learnt they can share ?

                          • Hi guys,

Well I'm a little confused after reading through most of this thread. I have a 2012 Passat with a RCD510 head unit including a Bluetooth module. I can stream music but do not have wheel control for track selection etc.

From what I understand I may need to upgrade to a 9W7 Bluetooth module... Must I also upgrade to an RNS510 unit to get full Bluetooth functionality? Would be nice to have music data on the screen also.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

                            Thanks

                            • It's the BT unit which determines whether or not you get support for AVHCP or not (controls and track display info). So you likely have an older module. Rns or rcd do not need to be upgraded.

                              • Hi guys,

I'm just in the process of updating my head unit to a RCD510 190B model as my current RCD510 is only a 190. I am particularly after BT media control from the steering wheel and track information displayed. (I've been told I need the 190B to do so!)

I have just looked at the BT module and found it to be 7P6 035 730 B. From investigations this seems to be a 9w7 however, can anyone tell me if this particular model will support media control / track listing or will I have to upgrade the BT module also??

                                Thanks in advance.
