Can anyone tell me if the 5K0035730D BT unit A2DP function supports mp3 ID in either an RNS 510 or RCD 510 head unit and allow song selection like when accessing mp3 media on the SD card

I THINK that it does. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

But your phone has to also support AVHCP v1.3. My HTC One X running Android 4.0.4 doesnt support it, as HTC in their infinate wisdom use their own bluetooth stack that doesn't support v1.3. The google supplied stack DOES, so it works with some custom ROMs (ie that don't use HTC's Sense interface which I really like).

IOS 5 and up supports it, as does any Android ROM based on Google's AOSP ICS/Jellybean BT stack eg Samsung Galaxy SII, S3 etc

Ok it is a function of the phone as well as the BT unit. Just
Helped a work colleague pair his iPhone 4S to his BT unit in his new X5 was really impressed with the ease and speed of the head unit accessing the iPhone's music library and the clarity of the sound.

With that said, I can still control the tracks (skip, pause, play etc) from the steering wheel/head unit and the sound is very good.
Just doesn't show track ID info in head unit/MFD when you have A2DP without FULL AVHCP 1.3 support (both phone and BT module).

Just received the above mentioned unit and installed it. A number of issues
1 phone button on steering wheel does not work (I have the old red MFD) sort of expected that as I was told it would not work with the red MFD and probably the steering wheel as well.
2 Phone book is all garbled although the missed calls received calls dialled calls all looks good.
3 BT audio does not display the song info when audio streaming. I am using an iPhone 4S which I upgraded to OS6 last week. The RCD 510 was made in 2010 and the BT unit in June this year

Just solved issues 2 and 3 by fitting a more recent version of the Bosch RCD 510 unit made in May 2011. The previous unit was made in March 2010

My Garmin Asus A50 phone does exactly the same thing! But my wife's iPhone 4S works like a dream

Interesting, is there any alternatives to replacing the HU with a later build date to fix the garbled phonebook? say updating firmware?

Mine has the white MFD and i can access the contact's work numbers and mobiles, but on the headunit its a mess.
