They aren't camera alerts (unless there is some new trick no one knows about), they are merely poi icons on the screen (you can have up to 9poi groups showing at any one time).

Does just replacing this unit, give you climatic control (plus some VCDS work)? Or are other parts required also?

If your car is 2011 it should not be a big drama as your Can will most likely be compatible.

Tyle in your car + climatronic retrofit on google and it will tell you .

I found a good write up on Golf.

We were going to do one on our CAddy but for the time being not enough time.

Some settings need to be done plus a bit of VCDS work plus optional sensors
