On another brand unit I did need an ext mic. I ran the wires up into the OE position and removed the case around the mic so it fitted. Worked well.
I find the inbuilt mic in the ANS 810 works without needing any modding.
Prev 2008 R32 3 door DSG.
Prev 2010 S3 Sportback Stronic.
Now Lexus IS350 F Sport

I think it depends on who is talking and who is on the other end, sometimes people struggle to hear me but other times I have no issues. I don't have a big loud voice though...

I'm interested in purchasing one of these from you. Before I do, I was wondering if you could just clarify the 1 year warranty. If in the event I receive one which is faulty, will you or audiosources ship a replacement one to me at no cost? Or will I have to ship this back to either you or audiosources at my expense? Thanks in advance.

You ship back to me, I confirm the fault and that I can't repair it, and I give you a replacement.
In the event that you have a special unit that I don't normally stock yet (e.g.the Touareg unit), I will get Audiosources to ship you a replacement direct through DHL (about 7 business days including production) at no cost. At any time your cost would just be to ship to me, which is about $20-$30 depending on how far you are from QLD.

Thanks for the quick response man. Sounds like a good deal!
Update in my notice post - It has come to my attention that many overseas distributors for Audiosources have been following my thread and seem to have misunderstood the intention for the current ANS series and stopped purchasing altogether to wait for the new unit. I'd just like to confirm that the current ANS series WILL CONTINUE TO BE SUPPORTED.
What's more, I have spoken to the manager just today and he told me they decided to continue developing the firmware and not just finalise bugs. New features will include revamped door open menu (below) and trip recorder. These features will in fact arrive before the new unit because they need to be tested and rolled out on the new unit at a later stage. Remember that OBD functionality is also coming to both current and new generations. To remove any ambiguity, I do and still will continue to sell the current ANS series units even after the new generation arrives. The new unit is meant as a more advanced model at a higher price, while the older unit is still a solid budget option - some will not care much for the features in the new generation and would prefer to save money, since the current generation is already a fully featured GPS head unit. I do not want to be responsible for a mass drop in distributor purchases because of misconception.
