  • I've just spotted a difference that has crept in the latest build.
You used to be able to press the RADIO hard button on the 810 and it cycled around the AM/FM1/FM2/FM3 bands. Now it doesn't.
That was a really useful feature. If they have to re-implement it my choice would be a straight switch between AM and FM, but that's because we don't have enough FM stations to warrant 3xFM bands. So maybe a setup option?
Tiguan MY12 118TSI, white, no frills..... Had ANS810 ... Note the HAD ..... Now got RCD510 supplemented by 7" Android TomTom mounted on a HoldMyPhone .... Upgraded speakers Vibe BlackAir front splits and MBQuartz 12" ported sub driven from Infinity Reference 5350a amp .... oh and added fun

Again just a reminder though Audiosources is closed until 19 February.

After starting the unit and playing a folder on the SD card, eventually after switching between 2-3 folders over a period of time the unit stops playing the music from the SD card. The current track is displayed however nothing plays, one thing that's common when the problem occurs is that the current playtime of the track is always shown as 12:15, this depsite the track only being 3-4 minutes in length.
I've tested with several differnet SD cards and also different tracks, eventually the unit will also get to the situation was playback fails and current playback position is 12:15.

Also experiencing various lockups when switching between sources, but to keep this post brief the above is causing me the most problems at the moment.

Other than the above, the unit has really progressed over the past few months and I would like to state my thanks to DKN for his assistance and continued support in this thread. I think Audiosources should really try and perfect this unit form a software point of view before dedicating all their efforts on the new unit.

          Cheers
I have this EXACT same problem. Ironically enough its worse when it's cold outside (<30 degrees F). I will try a soft reset and firmware reinstall just to be safe.

          • Fitted the supplied reverse camera today (thanks DkN) and it actually works very well, especially with the latest firmware. Was a real prick of a job to do on the T5 and the supplied camera did not fit the tailgate handle correctly, but some mods did the trick! Question. As the camera has an integrated LED numberplate light, it is totally different to the standard incandescent 5W festoon light in colour temp. and brightness. Does anyone have any idea if I can get a festoon LED globe that matches the numberplate light integrated in the camera?
            Thanks!

I'm hearing a few complaints about the latest firmware, I haven't got around to testing it myself but should I just skip this update?

              • You can just update the MPU only, this is the main operational part of the software and can always be flashed back to an older version, unlike the MPEG and MCU. It seems the latest MCU (which affects RVC detection) always tries to switch to RVC even when no RVC signal is connected, so flash the latest MCU only if you have one.

You mean the latest firmware I have right now? The current firmware seems to always try to switch to RVC even when there's no signal, so it might not be ideal if you don't have an RVC. I'm happy to just send you firmware for free as a one off, it's the continuous update and support that takes up my time and effort.

                            • Haven't updated to the latest firmware due to the RVC issue and wanting to see if it seems to be worth it. But, I am on the previous firmware and wanted to ask if anyone has noticed the following:

When using SD function and switching to 'Folder' and then returning to the main SD menu I randomly lose either one or all of the Song, Artist, or Album names. Eventually, sometimes after a few files later it resync's and returns to displaying all theses items.

Just curious if this is a known issue or if others have had similar observations.

                              Paul.

I have noticed the song name temporarily disappearing after browsing via the folder button, but in the worst case it would be back by the next song. I think you should just update the firmware, you can simply skip over the MCU update to avoid any behaviour changes in RVC detection.
