MPU is up to V95, or M94.

Yes, it will if it is a new unit. Older depreciated CAN-Bus decoders only worked for new Polo GTIs.

At this stage I am still sending firmware and offering related support based on a paid subscription service. I plan to release the firmware publicly when it is finalised and updates cease, but due to Audiosources deciding not to discontinue the current generation for now, I'm not sure how far away that is.

      Hi Sandy,

I've updated the firmware. The screen still goes black when engage reverse/rvc while using BT. Seems to fix the black screen while using RVC and NAV.

As I mentioned before I get my firmware from my technician, the sales staff don't always get them on time because it's not essential for them. My service is paid for good reason

          • I have the "M: unit and with the latest firmware I now have (did not before) the RVS system screen pop up and radio turns off in reverse. How do I kill this since I do not have sensors OR a camera? The old firmware did not do this.. and I liked that. The new firmware is also glitchy with switching from NAV to SD/RADIO/etc. Can I go back to the old firmware? This new one is nothing but problems for me and no fixes (other than the delay time is finally fixed when navigating your media menus)

Yes I have just been notified of the reverse camera glitch, this is related to the new MCU, seems in applying the black screen fix they did something to the RVC detection. Working on a solution now but the MCU cannot be un-updated because the unit detects if your current MCU is newer. You can however flash to the previous MPU if you don't like other parts of the update but can you elaborate on the glitchy nav / radio / SD switch?

              • i have the unit ans810. im running the latest and greatest firmware.
about 2 days ago my unit would turn on at start and freeze at a radio station and it will not allow me to switch stations and none of my side buttons work. i have to turn the unit off 2-3 times before it regains all its functions.
any hope or is my unit turing into a expensive paper weight!!!?

Also will there be future updates for this unit or is audio sources kinda moving away from it!
i really enjoy this unit and get alot of complements. i just want to see this unit last a long while.

Have you tried a soft reset in the setup menu followed by a reflash of the firmware? If that doesn't fix the issue then something is probably up with the hardware. You would probably have to chase up warranty but that could be difficult if you bought it direct (shipping back and forth would be around $150 alone).

There will still be software updates to come since Audiosources has decided to keep the current generation for a while still, but obviously the focus of the effort will be on the new generation once it is released.

Would the new generation be used on our current vw. Maybe it would be better to upgrade when it comes out.

The unit will be compatible with all cars that the current ANS 810 is compatible with. There will also be a version for the latest 2012+ Touareg. In time it should also be ported to older cars like the ANS 420. Audiosources has even begun working on a Golf 7 unit.

                        • HI DkN.

First of all, thank you for the new Firmware.

It seems that some of the bugs have been corrected. Yesterday I installed it on my ANS810B
The installation of the firmware went without problems.

But something must have gone wrong or there is a major bug in the new software for the M model.

When I try to use the SD slot then the Power-up logo “Welcome to Volkswagen” appears, normally it just appears for a few seconds, and nothing else happens.
After approx. 10 minutes - still the same.
Then I press the “Men” and select Radio and the radio start-up.

Afterward I tried with another SD card exactly the same thing happened again.
I then tried with the USB connecter and the same happened.

I then tried to update the MPEG again without luck.
Cannot update the MPEG or use the SD or USB anymore!

Can you help me with this issue?
Is there something I could have done wrong?

The NAVI seems to work ok.

There is also some improvement in the FM RDS functionality, but still some bug that need to be fixed. It seems that if you in the RDS mode switch off the Alternative Frequency “AF” and Traffic Announcement “TA” after you have done the Auto Search “AS” some of the bugs/problems with the FM RDS function disappear.

A short description of the observations I have done with the “RDS”, “AF” and “TA” on.

                          • For example when you press number two on the display you hear a beep and number two lights up in approx. 0.5 seconds, the display goes back to indicated that you have pressed number one but you are now listening to number two but at the same time it has also changed the frequency you see on the display for number two!. – weird behaviour.

                          • When you have done the Auto Search “AS” for the strongest FM station. Then the last thing the “AS” function does is to play the six? radio station for a few second, where you have time to see the frequency and name of each radio station, everything seems to be ok.

When the “AS” is completed, if you then for example press number three, you expect then that the radio will switch to the radio station located in number three, but no!

The radio switches to a complete other frequency - in some cases to a frequency outside the FM band, how can that happen? If I then switch off the RDS function it goes back to the frequency it found during the “AS”.

I have not yet tested the I-pod, Mobil phone, reverse camera function etc.

Hop you can help me with finding the bug/ problem. Please tell me if you need further information.

                          • Try a soft reset in the setup menu, and if that doesn't work, flash the MPU again. It's not the firmware itself because others have updated without any SD or USB issue.

As for the radio, I suspect they have not even noticed these glitches since most people just set and forget with the radio stations. I will pass on your feedback, though they may put this issue on a lower priority.

I have just tried what you suggest e.g.
                              - make a soft reset
                              - download the firmware and updated the MPU as you suggest - without luck

That's strange, I also recall you said with the previous update, where everyone else did not have the browsing menu timeout anymore, you still did. Could you try flashing back to the previous MPU and see if that makes a difference?
