It seems the final decision is that we will stick with iGo. We considered Sygic but eventually decided iGo was the better (though more expensive) option.

thanks for the update, most appreciated. iGo seems to have a good user base and be well supported, so probably makes sense. Will be interested to see boot time and performance of iGo on the new hardware.

also, can't wait to see any teaser info on the OBDII capabilities (just like the displays on a Nissan GTR? )

          brilliant! thanks for posting!

I guess they have looked at the idea of actual dials for some parameters - boost, etc? I assume that the new unit would have enough processing power for this?

            • I dont have a remote amp but I used the Blue wire on my previous unit.
Just put a test light on the wire and trun the ign off (remove key)

That's right, the blue wire marked "ant" is ACC power.

                  Hi DkN,

I'm not sure if this is possible or already in the works but it would be great if we could have a manual fuel consumption calculator built it. I.e we input how many L's where added rather than relying on what the trip computer thinks its using.

AFAIK the software development has all been completed, only thing left is to order the hardware - they've been extremely busy working on the new platform though so I can't be sure when that is happening.

Also yes iGo has its own fuel consumption calculator in which you manually enter km travelled and litres of fuel used. I've not seen the OBD fuel consumption module in operation yet so I'm not sure if manual calculation is an option, but remember your fuel consumption monitor can be adjusted via VCDS if you feel it is inaccurate.

                        • I have had some issues lately (since the current firmware upgrade) where upon starting my vehicle (and the head unit starts) it locks onto the OPS screen. Except I don't have OPS fitted or the supplied reverse camera at this stage. The loom is not even plugged into the head unit. I have to restart the vehicle to restart the head unit to resume normal operation. Any ideas?

It would be great if the unit itself had the feature rather than igo. This way you wouldn't need to load iGo or enter the odometer.

Do you means the OBD features will not be able upgrade to the current generation ANS units.

                              • If you read back thru the threads you will see it is an add on module compatible with later software.
I dont see it as being that high on the list for this type of product personally. A kufatec is an alternative option that shows in the mfd.
