  • Just wanted to say a BIG thank you to DkN, pleasure to deal with and I installed my new ANS-810 on the weekend trouble free. The GPS did not like it inside the garage, but it all worked out once I reversed it into the driveway. First time doing anything like that before, and between the threads and 'how-to guides' and DkN's instructions I got it all done and setup pretty quickly. Very professional, highly recommend his services again!
    Thanks!

    • DkN - are these units compatible with Dynaudio amp and speakers (factory option) in a MK6 Golf?

      Thanks

      • Yup, fully compatible with Dynaudio.

Quick update, I am about to get my hands on new firmware, and I have been informed that organising music by ID3 artist etc will be available for iPod very soon (next FW release) since the data is obtainable via iPod itself (i.e. not much re-coding of the ANS software).

          • Ok, primo appears to be working great apart from it not retaining its settings after power down, forcing me to go through the wizard on each startup. I receive the message "the applicatuon failed to start last time,do you want to lose all settings and poi". Any ideas anybody?

            • Delete sys.txt and save folder.

If you got it from a local dealer you should really confront them because it's ridiculous you have to go through this much effort yourself to get it working. They practically delivered you a sat nav unit without working sat nav. None of my customers have issues like what you are describing...

If you delete sys.txt and save folder and still run into the same issue, try pressing "no" when that window comes up, because pressing yes obviously will mean Primo wipes user settings itself.

                • There is something wrong with the config, so deleting the save folder and sys.txt will obviously run the setup again next startup. But once thats done hopefully it will be with the correct settings. This is the accepted method for resolving issues as described. As I mentioned earlier, the current versions of iGo do not need a sys.txt at all to work they should auto configure. Anything added to this config file has the potential to cause issues if the settings are not understood fully.

There are a million and one tweaks that can be done using settings in this file however if the application is not starting correctly this is where to start, as well as removing the cache which is in the save folder.

                  • Update on the unit, I now have the latest FW revision which has finalised the video playback menu and includes several general bug fixes. However, in about 2 weeks time a new revision will be released to allow browsing of iPod by artist / song name (rather than file name), as well as fix the bluetooth contacts list to sort alphabetically - therefore I will wait for this more major update before distributing new firmware.

If all goes well, by the end of this month OBDII features unmatched in the current market will also be released

                      Karmold,

Thanks for advice, tried deleting save folder and also SYS.text, you are correct, everything started up OK and GPS and general navi functions all working without a hitch. Unfortunately as soon as the unit looses power, I get the same old error reappearing on startup, any other suggestions?

Delete the save folder again and put in sys.txt:
                        shutdown_time=0

If that does not work, PM me.

                        • Fixed my AM reception problem with this device from eBay (Item #:330722245645 -cant edit links from iPhone!)

Needed to butcher the 2 plugs to make them fit into my single DUAL connector, but now I have the best AM reception I've ever had in a car! And FM is better too.
Anyone else with a Tiguan (and any MY12 VW?) should consider this a mandatory accessory!

Also fitted the reverse cam as part of boot release of Tiguan.
Works a treat, but a little slow (3 secs?) to come on.
Any chance of it speeding up a little?

Looking forward to the upcoming FW update.

                          • That's interesting, although your link doesn't work.

Do you mean the reverse camera takes 3 seconds on boot only or every time you switch to reverse? If it's on boot I'm not sure if there's much that can be done - I think the RNS is the same too, it comes down to the camera hardware needing a little time to be turned on.

                            • From engaging reverse to picture on screen is 3-5 secs every time.
                              Screen blanks almost immediately.
                              didnt time the indicator lines.
Will do a proper timing after lunch.
Need to check if reverse lights come on quicker.
Could it be the relay box takes time to switch over?
or just a combination of lots of little delays along way.

Not a big problem, but the first few reversing manouvers were too quick to use the camera.... Doh!
It is a great picture both in bright sunlight and car parks. Not tried nighttime yet.

                              • Hmm, I forgot that the relay means the camera needs to turn on again every time you switch to reverse. I know that with the licence plate LED type camera they turn on pretty much immediately.

With the antenna, do you mean this one:

VW AUDI VAG TWIN FAKRA TO DIN ANTENNA AERIAL ADAPTER PC5-149 CT27AA25 AAN2128 | eBay

If so that's interesting because I had two other antennas similar to that one and neither of them did anything for me.
