alright, I will check in with Audiosources and see how their support treats me, and otherwise I will surely take you up on your offer as you have been a HUGE wealth of knowledge thus far on this forum and I just found you on GOLFMKV as well. Are you on GOLFMK6.com?
No, I'm mostly just on this forum, and I'm occasionally on golfmkv because I own a Golf 5 and that's where I initially found the AS-7608 units which eventually led me to where I am now. Seems the majority of people there on golfmkv are still sticking to the old AS-7609 / 7608. Can't say I understand their enthusiasm, sure it's almost outrageously cheap but I think the little things wrong / missing will eventually drive me crazy.
hi friend DkN,can told me pls if the tmc(igo) its working in ans510?heave you any video for confirm that?
thank you in advance
If you purchased a unit with TMC, it should be working. I can't test here because TMC service is provided largely exclusively by SUNA in Australia and you need a commercial licence with them to receive it (broadcast is encrypted). I don't think even VW has one though apparently a few years ago people thought it was coming on the RNS-510... Maybe because apparently SUNA service is pretty terrible anyway.
I will check which TMC receiver is being offered by Audiosources though.
The BT update is delayed because of an issue with sorting the phonebook alphabetically, taking into account multiple languages. I've suggested to do it based on selected system language and start with English, so hopefully it will come with the next update. This means there's not a big difference with the current update so I decided to withhold it since the current rate of 2 to 3 updates a month is probably a bit too excessive for most customers. I will release updates after I test them if I find significant enough improvements to warrant it

Are there no browsing improvements in this update?
Tiguan MY12 118TSI, white, no frills..... Had ANS810 ... Note the HAD ..... Now got RCD510 supplemented by 7" Android TomTom mounted on a HoldMyPhone .... Upgraded speakers Vibe BlackAir front splits and MBQuartz 12" ported sub driven from Infinity Reference 5350a amp .... oh and added fun

Not the one I have on hand, but I have just been informed they have preliminary software with iPod menu improvements undergoing internal testing at the moment. Also that the phonebook sort order for English systems is pretty much done, so I'm hoping both will be finalised in the next firmware release.
Are they making any progress (or have intentions) to make that right hand knob scroll through the menus again as in the previous units? I find it downright dangerous to try to touchscreen scrolling through the menus/folders of my SD card while driving.
Also that hidden OBD menu is intriguing! I just hope some of the settings (analog gauges and speed in-particular) come to life!!
DkN, thank you for all your efforts and communication with Audiosources, you are seriously 1,000,000X easier to communicate with than their tech support reps.
alright, I have a question about the SUB OUT RCA cable.
I have an amplifier wired to the rear outputs (right and left RCAs) and when I connect it to just the one subwoofer out (1 RCA only) I feel like I get 1/2 the signal as my amplifier has 2 RCA inputs.
Does a Y-adapter RCA (2-->1) make this signal full again? Does anyone use the SUBWOOFER OUT on the headunit with success?

Yeah use a Y splitter mate, obviously if you connect only the left sub then your right sub wouldn't get anything through the amp and vice versa.
just one subwoofer, but it has left and right RCA inputs. Either way I get it, bridge them with a splitter and hopefully all will be well. Will try this!
I have read through the thread and just have a few questions:
Does the unit support Internet Radio? This would be a huge plus in my book because 80% of the music I listen to is streamed live from the internet. I understand you would need a 3G modem installed for this to work, so does the USB connection support a modem? If not then can you stream the internet radio from your phone using BT or via the USB?
Will this unit work with a Dension Gateway 100? I have a 100 plugged in to my RCD500 at the moment, which gives me full ipod control from the ipod itself (i.e i dont have to browse through the ipod using the controls on the head unit). Any other unit I have tried which has a direct ipod plug has never given me the ability to fully control the ipod from the jog wheel on the ipod. Also the Dension unit at the moment allows me to stream internet radio from my iPhone (another advantage of not having the ipod/ iphone locked down when plugged in to the unit).
Do we have any one in the Newcastle area who has one of these installed? I would love to see it in action.

I'm not sure about USB 3G capabilities but I don't think the unit currently supports it - however it does stream music via BT fine so you can listen to internet radio that way, a customer of mine does this and says it works well.
I am doubtful Dension Gateway can work with this unit - from what I can tell the Dension Gateway is designed to fit specific units, and obviously it has not catered for the ANS. It's possible to get it working if you use the aux-in port but I don't think the info will display on the ANS because the instructions on your Dension is designed for the RCD500 - but you may be able to retain controls through the iPod. Having said that, the current iPod menu in the ANS is being revised and there is a new interface being experimented with, which will list songs by artist and song name etc and I think retain playlists as well. Coupled with ability to use steering wheel controls I don't see the benefit in using your iPod.
The closest customer I've had to you is in Tascott, but maybe there's someone in the group buy I'm running that's closer to you.

I'd be real interested to know if a 3G USB stick could be used for internet access... DkN is it possible just to ask if this unit would recognise a 3G USB stick ?? it would need a lot of new software but knowing whether or not the version of WinCE onboard supports this would be good to know....
Also I always stream radio from my mobile phone using BT... its awesome !!!
