My rain sensor has stopped working. Checked fuse - all good. Shut car down and restarted, same problem. Anything else I can do before heading off to the dealer for a warranty repair?

Get it to stop raining? I'd appreciate that as I have a heap of work to do outside that's been pushed back for weeks...2011 Skoda Octavia vRS TDI DSG wagon|Revo Stage 1|Race Blue|Leather|Dynamic Xenons w 6000K|9w7 BT|THA475 Amp+active sub|Whiteline ALK|RVC|

If the windscreen is wet when you start the car, then you need to switch it on and off, or toggle sensitivity up and down. Sometimes in light rains it gets itself stuck on too - same thing applies.
I parked my car undercover at home and work, so never knew that until I'd had the car about 2 months (the starting one, not the other one - my Renault used to do that)

Easy way to tell if it is indeed working when you suspect it isn't, leave the ignition on with the auto wipers turned to on, get yourself a spray bottle or garden hose and sprinkle the entire windscreen with water. If the wipers do nothing, then it's probably stuffed. I they work, it's fine. All it is is a photosensitive receiver and LED. If the photosensitive receiver gets interrupted, it triggers the wipers.sigpic

Not sure about VW but on my 320d the rain/light sensor is an integral part of the windscreen and is was replaced when my windscreen was cracked so I would make sure you have free windscreen replacement ticked in your car insurance premium to cover any future eventsMY 21 T Cross 85TSI Life| Makena Turquoise | Driver Assist Package |
