RVC not working after RNS510 installation

Hi All, fitted the 'C' version of the RNS 510 in my MY12 GTI on the weekend, all working, no dramas to fit.
However, now the reverse camera is not working (black screen only) and Ive been informed i'll need to recode the VCDs ?

Can anyone help with that, Im in Sydney and dont mind paying a reasonable fee.

Yes you need to code your CANBUS gateway to tell it which features you have so they all work together.
I am in Sydney and happy to help out, my cable is inbound after a tropical north Queensland holiday so will have it later this week.

Tried to help jacs out with this today but no dice...was hoping someone may have done this and found the missing link that I can't find...

The RNS510 is rev C as mentioned, running 2760 firmware.

RVC is OEM (factory installed) low backup cam.

RNS was already coded for backup cam low (as well as all other possible features like CD changer, Dynaudio etc...)

Camera was opening up but the screen on the RNS was showing just black.

Tried turning the camera low bit off and back on again, clearing DTCs etc but no luck. Now also the badge is not opening when the car is put into reverse.

Also tried turning on the high backup cam in CANBUS installation list but as expected this controller is not found.

Anyone have any suggestions here?
I am going to try upgrading firmware on the RNS tomorrow however this is a bit of a long shot.

This might sound stupid but did you make sure the video in cable was actually connected to the correct port on the RNS unit?
If it's operating it obviously has power so it should be working otherwise.

Yeah didn't get a chance to check continuity on the video cable, may have to check that tomorrow.
Will also check that the pinouts match on the RNS510 and RCD510 AUX 26pin connectors...from what I've found they appear to be identical...
Also need to check that the CAN is receiving a reverse signal by checking the RNS secret menu...

All good, the 26 pin multimedia connector wasn't seated fully.
Like it when its an easy fix

Good to see it all worked out

I moved my GPS antenna and had a similar experience with the black screen... the plug was only *just* unseated (barely moved) but that little bit seems to make all the difference.
