Isn't there any way to obtain the software? Can it read like the AVIC D3 disk?

I think you're totally out of luck. I looked into this when I was looking at buying the Eclipse, and the US and Australian maps aren't compatible, even if you can get hold of them.

        Hi,

When I purchased mine, all the software was preloaded on the hard drive. I didn't get any disks at all. If I had any problems I would have to return it to the installer (Autobarn) who would then forward it to Pioneer.

If any one can help me out and point me in the right direction I would appreciated it. I'm just trying to find a way to buy the actual Aust Hard Drive but no luck at the moment.

            Merry Christmas to all

            Haven't posted for a while.

Had a chat recently with Craig from Autobarn (Narre Warren store).

I was inquiring about cost for the map update for the AVIC-HD3. I wanted the new East Link roads information as well as a general update.

Craig said he would find out and get back to me.

I received a very pleasant phone call a week or so later.

Turns out my AVIC install was the first unit installed for a retail customer for all of OZ (some of the Pioneer guys cars were done prior to my install for demo purposes).

Since I posted a few threads on forums (especially here at vwwatercooled), they have given me a full version latest map upgrade for gratus/nix/free.

Big thank you to Pioneer OZ and especially Craig at Narre Warren Autobarn for arranging this.

I will sort it out, but it is a pain at the moment.
Hi Geoff, Did you sort this problem out? I've just bought a HD3BT, should be delivered Tuesday, and I don't want to be stuck with this little problem. I eagerly await your reply.

                Hi Reaver,

Yes I did work out a solution.

If the songs you are importing do not have the correct ID3 tagging, then the AVIC wanted to compare the music to its database. If it finds the same "sounding" song is already on its hard drive, it would not import the new track.

I worked this out when I was importing "A State of Trance" soundtracks. They all had the same 20 seconds or so intro, so the AVIC had problems.

Before I worked out the ID3 tagging solution, I was actually editing the beginning of each song and incrementally chopping off a second or two from each subsequent import. That was the only way I could get the AVIC to recognise the song as a new track.

However, if you have correct ID3 tag per song you should be OK.

                Cheers,
                Geoff.

Brilliant, thank you for taking the time to reply. All my mp3's are properly tagged via Windows Media Player, as I use Windows Media Center, so hopefully I shouldn't have a problem.

                  Thanks again Geoff,
