I think it's "official" from build week 45, so no I doubt it.

        HI Guys,
I just did the firmware upgrade for my 08 Passat CC but I still have the saved music and map in the unit. The software still looks the same but the only difference I can see is when I use the RVC I can also see the parking sensor diagram. Should I try and upload the program again?

No, it's updated fine from the sound of it. Dig through and you will find the additional changes.

Thanks. I am going to install the mic and get the Vagcom coding done for the voice activation but I was quoted $100 for the mic from VW. Is it really that expensive? Any other alternative without having to cut the wires, mod, etc.

Do you have bluetooth? If so which one?

No not for the blue tooth but just for the voice activation on the new firmware map. But I was told by someone that there is a line connection to the reader light in the CC so I just have to plug the mic in instead of running a line from the Nav unit to the roof line.

And you won't have 2660 that's for sure. If you take a look at my site you can see the differences in the menu.

They won't update unless there is a reason and it's unlikely you would get 2660 anyway, if anything they would update if there was a specific problem and VW recommend updating.

Your dealer can change the region code as it will currently be set to region 2. Or someone with Vagcom/VCDS can do it.

Instructions are here - Changing the Region Code on the Volkswagen RNS 510
My CC is August 09 Build and won't accept SDHC Cards. Gives the "Check SD Card Screen Message". My RNS510 Manual says that the system accepts SDHC card up to 32 GB.

In that case I can't see why the dealer is not obligated to provide the firmware upgrade which I think should have been done as part of pre-delivery. I took delivery of the vehicle on 6/11/2009.

                  Any comments appreciated.
You know you are getting old when you cancel your order for a 3.6 CC and buy an Icelandic Gray TDI CC instead.

If you don't have bluetooth you will need to run the mic to the roof.

Well I have pulled the trigger and upgraded. I am happy so far (about 2 mins of playing whilst at work). To bad it thinks I am in europe. Anyway I am sure with a drive (how long have you guys found it takes ?) then i should be all good. Next step get bluetooth and a vw mike installed.

I had asked when i got my car serviced this morning to upgrade the rns-510 firmware and they said nothing is avaliable now but will be avaliable 2n QTR 2010... what a joke.

                          <5 minutes.

It appears that release 2660 is intended for C revision units.

                          2670 is coming out shortly.

2700 will be out early next year and will most likely be stopped from being loaded onto A & B units.

And version 1200 will be coming out shortly as well which is designed for revision A & B units and the only features it adds is SDHC and POI photos.

Has anybody tried the version 1200 upgrade on a mk5 yet? If you have changed settings with a vagcom will these be reset to what is in the firmware upgrade or will this stay the same?

                              thanks

Does anyone know of a freeware program for Mac I can download to convert the downloaded files onto CD for 2660 firmware upgrade? My understanding is I need to convert from RAR to ISO files before burning to disk. Any advise is appreciated.
