Haven't tried it (obviously) but that's what the German guys are saying works if I'm reading Google's translations correctly.
Doesn't work, two presses opens the voice commands on the bluetooth and than cancels.
The i button on the headunit works. Must test to see if I can pass commands through to the bluetooth via the headunit and remove the coding for the bluetooth using that button.

There appeared to me to be a couple of places that needed coding changes...
Having another read through the translated thread on motor-talk.de http://translate.google.com/translat...istory_state0= it seems as though some of them are getting inconsistent results with activating the RNS speech control from the steering wheel.

Now THAT would be a good idea - I assume you mean testing to see if you can control the phone screen of the RNS510 from its own voice control....
Or if it was possible - pass commands to Bluetooth from the phone button (which is unused I believe with the Skoda kit) and to the head unit with the star. Don't think you can reassign buttons though LOL.
He's controlling it from the steering wheel... not sure how yet though.
This also from that thread:
"You can switch on the star button on the MFL, the voice. With VCDS to change coding and in MFL MFL with GRA / voice or something like that." I think MFL is the steering wheel...
So it would appear it can be done - Mav, care you able to look at those extra coding bits?
Select Coding 07 and you should see a 7 digit softcode which will be in the format 00xxxxx
The 4th digit from the right corresponds to the steering wheel variant. If you have a 4 spoke Multi Function Steering Wheel without the Cruise Control buttons it should be a 2. Change this to a 3 and that should convert your Mute button to activate the Voice Dialling.
From the guys at Motor-talk.de talking about this coding:
xxx?xxx
0 = UHV Sprachbedienung an Audioset 1 0 = Voice of UHV Audioset 1
1 = UHV Sprachbedienung an Audioset 2 1 = Voice of UHV Audioset 2
2 = UHV Sprachbedienung an Audioset 3 2 = Voice of UHV Audioset 3
6 = UHV Sprachbedienung aus 6 = voice of UHV
7 = UHV Sprachbedienung aus 7 = voice of UHV
8 = UHV Sprachbedienung aus 8 = voice of UHV
Standardmässig ist an dieser Stelle der Codierung eine "0" - bei 1 und 2 passiert nichts, also keinerlei Änderung. By default, at this point of coding a "0" - at 1 and 2, nothing happens, so no change.
3-5 - FSE Spricht auf die Sterntaste an, aber macht nur Dünnschiss. 3-5 - FSE Responds to the star button, but only makes Dünnschiss.
6-8 - Sprachbedienung am MFL steuert das RNS - PFSE spricht nicht mehr an, auch die Dachbedieneinheit ist nicht mehr für die Sprachbedienung zzu nutzen, wohl aber noch die Serviceruf und Infotaste (6-8 getestet, aber keinerlei anderes Verhalten aufgefallen.) 6-8 - Voice on MFL controls the RNS - PFSE addresses any more, even the roof control unit using ADS is no longer for the voice, but still testing the service call and take a key (6-8, but noticed no change in performance.)
9 - Ausserhalb des Wertebereichs. 9 - Outside of range.
Alles andere an der Codierung bleibt unangetastet. Everything else in the code will remain intact.
I did the 26xx upgrade but haven't started messing around with the mic wiring yet *gulp* .. will have to re-read a couple of times later today to better understand the steps needed to get the mic working... other than the physical bits (re-routing the cables is the easy bit, compared with the right vagcom settings and buttons to press).
Some extra changes in it (thanks to a post on vwnavi):
- You cannot write in adress for navigation when driving (POI will do fine, but if you try to write with the keyboard you get a message to drive safely)
- Cannot write in the telephone book (I got the Premium kit) when driving.
You can select the names and scrolling down, but not writing with keyboard (same as in navigation
- I can call directly to the POI telephone numbers (Premium phonekit)
I wasnt able to do this before, I think?
- I dont know if this is new, but I have gotten a "autozoom" feature in the map view. Was possible to enable if you press the button to the right
Any way to disable it not allowing typing during driving? I know I am unable to type personally while driving, but often I get my passenger to type in destinations. I can currently do it with my current firmware, can this be changed with vagcom after I update the firmware?

Does anyone else notice that the switch-on volume is way too loud? even at it's lowest setting! My prev firmware was much softer at switch-on, is there any way to change this?
Also, I cannot get the OPS (optical parking system?) to work. I have a factory-fitted RNS-510 and factory-fitted rear sensors and my R32 is an '09 model. What more is there to do?
