Updated the firmware on my Pioneer AVIC F80DAB today and then the IOS 12 update
Can confirm Google Maps working on CarPlay. Can’t wait for waze for that seamless Spotify integration.

Good news for Apple CarPlay users

I'm happy to confirm that Waze works well via CarPlay on the Discover head unit.
I'm a Waze Beta tester and we've been ironing out the bugs quickly and at this stage the update should be out in production over the next few days.

I installed Waze yesterday and tested on a drive across Brisbane. Map and Navigation directions are not as good as Google Maps IMHO. Didn't really experience traffic so can't comment on that.

Did a very brief test of both Waze and Google Maps today. Both worked nicely. Waze especially handy with the traffic light camera warning.

I saw the update go through the phone for Waze, I'm looking forward to having it run permanently when I'm in the car now that it's only a button press away

Yes the crowd sourced warnings are handy for sure, cars on the side of the road, police active, radar, crashes etc.

I tried it out tonight for a few minutes. It appears to work well, the only complaint is that the speed limits seem to be in the top right corner and hidden by the next turn information

I used it 2 days in row (Waze) and its much better than the Apple Maps. The update did drop the speedometer from the display though
