I finally got my RVC working on my GTI MK6. Ended up being a dodgy adaptor, but also got told by another member to try the reverse wire from the plug for the RCD510. Lo and behold it worked.

@ZantetsukenJ, thats unreal, well done!! Can you please clarify which converter you used, perhaps send a link to it? I am trying to connect OEM Lowline RVC (Handle type in Passat Wagon), into a RCD330... do you think I should (hopefully) see similar success? I dont have or need the moving reverse lines, just the static ones.

Absolutely, I don't have the moving reverse lines either, I just have static ones which I think indicates mine is also a low line camera. I don't have a link unfortunately as I bought it last year off alibaba. You just need a converter with a reverse, positive and negative line and a video line either going to the blue plug or RCA and then an adaptor going from RCA to the blue plug.

Great. And I presume you didn't need a delay timer?
And can you clarify what you connected the reverse wire to?

            No delay timer at all!

The cable I connected to was the yellow cable on the blue plug that's off the harness

Has anyone had success with an OEM flip badge camera? Does it make a difference compared to the handle type?

Oh wow. Ok so to check the parameters of your install:

                    - OEM low line RVC camera - flip badge model (RGB output) [does anyone know if theres any difference in the ones installed on the passat on those on the Golfmk6?]
                    - RCD330 plus
                    - RGB to CVBS converter from Ali express - Something like this?

                    - Adaptor for RCA to Blue plug (presumably the ones that get "gifted" with the rcd330?) - I.e. this? -

Photos of the various adaptors would be greatly appreciated if possible - i've spent forever trying to research what is in the art of the possible with my car.

Why use an adapter if you don't need to?
You can get flip badge cameras that are composite video out.

That adaptor is similar to what I used. It's a fairly simple job. Took me 10 minutes to do.

Why spend time and money swapping the badge camera when you can just put in a converter that costs 10 bucks?

Talking about installing an OEM flip badge camera and a converter to use with an RCD330....if you already have an OEM camera sure use a converter.
But if you are retrofitting a camera, use one that is compatible out of the box with the head unit you are going to use.

Ah I see your point, I read that he had a camera already, maybe it's not the case?
