So i just received and (several hours later) installed a neuspeed intake for my golf R
stock google picture:

Now everything went OK, except for the heat shield part. The large rubber "screw" holding it in seems to be different than the European models, in that theirs is cone shaped (thing at the top) where ours is the oppisate, the top bit is thick, therefore making it very difficult to undo
It is the top left in the picture below:

So i ended up not putting in the heat shield that came with the intake
Will this cause any issues ?
Im assuming its there to keep warm air from entering the engine bay, but im hoping its not there to keep the maf safe ?
Input would be appreciated !
