No limits from what I have seen; but I can't imagine that one would ever need to flash it more than a few hundred times throughout its lifetime.Originally posted by Candyman View PostWhat is the burn life of the R ECU ?
For what its worth, even on older ECUs, I have been able to reprogram them close to 100 times so far with no issue.VWWC Members - 2018 Special - ECU & DSG Remaps

Viezu Tuning
Dear all
I'll keep this brief and do a proper intro in due course - as we won't be sponsoring this forum properly until later this week. But rest assured - we'll be everywhere in no time. Marketing guys are doing final touches.
I should probably do a general reply to this so here goes...
A common misconception is that Viezu is ChippedUK rebranded. This is not accurate. Viezu was set up by the various directors having spent years developing strategies and business plans - they then bought ChippedUK later on. ChippedUK was a small UK based tuner, like many other tuners you see around nowadays. However in around 3 years of going 'live' Viezu is now a truly global brand with over 350 dealers in 34 countries. They are the fastest growing tuning brand in the world. They are multi international award winners for their unique mapping services. No bought in file rubbish - but rather, guaranteed custom written in-house by our exponentially growing software experts, file writers, technicians and engineers at our International R&D and Technical Centre utilising a 3000hp 4x4 dyno which is environmentally controlled, and Euro 5 emissions certified. Viezu write files from max eco to eco/torque/performance blends to stage one performance to stage two motorsport and true race mapping. Because they are truly custom files following some of the most exhaustive R&D programs around the globe, smoothness, mechanical sympathy, safety, and real world performance and economy are a given. Also, naturally, all modifications are taken fully into account during the writing process.
Our policy is 100% satisfaction money back guarantees and all mapping is insured so any problems attributable to the file or tune process are fully insured. If there's a problem, we're always here to help.
eTech Remapping is no more now - things were taking off so well we decided to stop with eTech Remapping to secure the rights to Viezu here in Australia and set up sub dealers across the states (stay tuned for more on that). Welcome "Viezu Australia" then as the newly appointed Master Dealer and Distributor for Viezu here in Australia - which we launched recently although will be properly launching in a few weeks with a couple of sub dealers to start with... and a good number of sub dealers poised ready for launch between now and Christmas ultimately meaning the need for the basic home tuner devices will minimal. Plus of course in the advent of anti tune ecu's bench tuning by your local dealer will be key and we will be everywhere to facilitate this of course.
In relation to the query on 'R's DSG - yes our tunes are unique in that they also carry a free light-map of the DSG which makes them shift smoother and faster as well as tweaking the LC... We can do full DSG mapping but we see great results on the light-map so many client's fail to see the need of the extra expense on the whole.
Golf GTi - depends which one - the boost cycle on the Mark 6 means we're still developing a motorsport stage 2 map which isn't a boost spyke to achieve gains - that's not what we're about. But the stage one is 40-45hp and 85+Nm. The Mark 5, however is an absolute hoot. Same as the 6 on the stage one Performance map but 70+hp (51kW) and 100Nm on stage 2. No mods. No fancy fuel. Fully insured.
Unfortunately though Viezu only quote economy and stage one performance mapping on the websites (even ours www.Viezuaustralia.com.au) but we're working on listing the stage 2 packages on a suitable widget for the website. We sell a lot of stage two tunes for all sorts of vehicles - from 4x4.s to hatches to luxury execs to sports cars to supercars... motorbikes.... trucks.... marine... Until then (there are many thousands to get though) please drop an enquiry on our website or me personally simon@viezuastralia.com.au - we're always here to assist in any way we can.
We will be sponsoring a great number of forums shortly so will only flit on and off any particular one so email direct enquiries are a much better bet but no doubt one of the new sub dealers will be on here a lot soon enough so a proper Viezu Authorised sub dealer / representative will be able to answer questions, if not ourselves directly, on such threads so no worries there.
However we're always happy to assist and we are available pretty much 24/7 at HQ here in Australia by email should you have any urgent queries.
Nice to see some of our clients on here already though ! Glad you're still enjoying the tunes
Cheers
Simon

Hi Simon - thanks for the reply.
Just so I've got this right.... it's a custom retune, but I'm able to switch tunes as I want? And with that - I also get a variety of maps to choose from? Performance, stock, valet mode - etc.
And how do you say the company name? "Vee-zu", "Veye-zu", "Veiwz"? etcMy car: MY18 Arteon

Hi DreamensioN
No problem at all.
It's "Vee-Zoo" !
Sure - if you are not in an area serviced by an Authorised Dealer we'd certainly suggest the V-Switch route as an option if it's compatible with your car. These hand held units are only basic read/write tools after all.
Our particular method with them is this:
The unit arrives without files.
You install the unit to your PC/Laptop.
You take the 'read' file from your car via the OBD port.
You email us that file with your requirements and spec of the vehicle/mods etc
We liaise with our technical centre who prepare your bespoke mod files
We email these back to you
You save them on the unit
You can then use the device to map your own vehicle as you wish.
If your car service centre flash an update on your car at service time we need a new read file and will supply further mod files again (free of charge for the lifetime of your ownership)
The unit then contains your own original read stock file (not a generic stock library file for that car/ecu which is important for a variety of reasons) and up to two Mod files, from Valet mode / Max Eco / any blend / towing torque requirements, Blue Optimize Emissions reduction and blends, Performance, stage 2 motorsport (and for some vehicles, true max-it-race tunes which are not insured). Viezu do R&D work for some of the biggest players at the highest of levels in the motor industry and are official tuners to the likes of Oakley Design Ferrari, Ducati and Porsche and their race vehicles, for example.
Hope that assists for now,
Cheers

Good to hear as burning our ECUs on Subies is not an experience I'd like to experience again.Originally posted by DNA Tuning View PostNo limits from what I have seen; but I can't imagine that one would ever need to flash it more than a few hundred times throughout its lifetime.

As far as I'm aware it's only on an anti-tune tricore ECU you can only flash it incorrectly (ie with a wrong file or bad voltage) that then fails during the flash process - 3 times - then the ECU is locked out permanently. Upon a successful flash the 3 attempts rule re-instates.Originally posted by Candyman View PostGood to hear as burning our ECUs on Subies is not an experience I'd like to experience again.
Hope that helps.
Bottom line is no - Golf 'R' - don't worry.
Hand held devices don't work on the anti tune motors of course in any event.

Hi BrimwayOriginally posted by brimway View PostAccording to the viezu website, 53kw gain can be achieved for MK6 GTI & R. This seems to conflict with the data that the "vehicle, model search" reveals.
the site says GTi and R rather than GTi (6) - it's the Mark 5 which will see those gains not the 6 (as I've stated in the above posts) but in any event:
Essentially the widgets are only currently available for economy and performance stage one mapping. In the throws are Blue Optimize widgets and we're working on stage two motorsport mapping figures widgets for the websites however because Viezu are such a massive specialist brand there are many thousands of vehicles covered so this will take some time. So the stage two tunes will have to be email enquiry (sales@viezuaustralia.com.au) for now please to ensure a quick response.
On our home forum page on here in a few days I'll put some popular examples though for everyone in the mean time.
Hope this assists
Cheers

Hi lavnaOriginally posted by lavna View PostHi My car is a perfect example
I have viezu motorsport map and nothing else on a golf r dsg
The car ran 13.4 at 105 mile an hour
You cant ask for a better tune
It would be good to see how much quicker it'll go now with the LC fettling on the mapping for sure... One of the other guys say 5.7s 0-100 stock is now 4.7s with Viezu-map and 4.17s for the dump pipe a new bespoke Viezu-map 0-100 which is crazy - so we'll be getting together some package deals in the coming weeks so if you're keen drop us an email for sure !

Mmmmm, I am feeling the urge to mod, even after saying I wouldn't (resisted with the GTI)
MY12 with DSG and 5,000km
Any likely issues that have been mentioned elsewhere - DSG impact, dealer servicing, Iongevity ?????Last edited by Candyman; 01-11-2011, 11:24 AM.8VSS2L/16 E9E9 XG MP SPP1 4ZD 6XK CSC5P with an extra free 10kW

You & me both! I spent THOUSANDS getting the last car I had previously into the 13 second bracket. Now I can do it with a simple re-flash. I think this tune will be a present to myself after I pass my next 2 Microsoft exams.Originally posted by Candyman View PostMmmmm, I am feeling the urge to mod, even after saying I wouldn't (resisted with the GTI)
