Is there no workshop in MELBOURNE tuning with superchip bluefin?
I would like to work with a tuner if i get one of these

I'm leaning towards superchips purely because it seems its very easy to switch between stock and custom flash. Very good for taking the car back to stock before going in for a service. If you reverted back to your original flash, can the VW service center see that your ecu has been messed with?

Oh and one last thing, does anyone know if many MY11 118tsi's have encyrpted ecu's? I'd hate to have ordered the superchips then find out I can't use it.
Hi, I can say for a certainty it does get rid of the acceleration lag. The build date for my vehicle is Apr 2010. The ECU is not encrypted and the installation straightforward. I got the new map within 10 minutes after I registered. I did a diagnostic check on fault codes before and after the installation to make sure there were no issues. It was a clean install.

If there is one word that describes how the car runs after the upgrade - VERY SMOOTH.

With the stock map, the car was already a fun and zippy but the upgrade did make it even better.

I eventually chose superchips because of price, DIY and also the ability to transfer the license to another vehicle later on. I searched the Internet for complaints and issues with superchips on the VW Golfs and other vehicles but could not find any.

Has anyone with Superchips gone from Stage 1 to Stage 2? Is there a Superchips upgrade path? How much does it cost and any recommended downpipe and cost?

Oh really? GC Corp has been an official Superchips Bluefin stockist/reseller since 2007.

There is also a website solely dedicated to the Bluefin product for Australia - http://www.mybluefin.com.au

Hmmm yes strange indeed but really anyone can create a website using whatever name they like as long as its not taken already

            Example ............

            Whois Domain
Click here to perform another Whois query

            Whois response for mybluefin.com.au:

            Domain Name mybluefin.com.au
            Last Modified 07-Jul-2009 23:27:59 UTC
            Registrar ID Enetica
            Registrar Name Enetica
            Status ok
            Registrant GC CORP PTY LTD
            Eligibility Type Company
            Registrant Contact ID GC387256
            Registrant Contact Name Gerard Chan
            Registrant Contact Email gerard.chan@gccorp.com.au
            Tech Contact ID GC387256
            Tech Contact Name Gerard Chan
            Tech Contact Email gerard.chan@gccorp.com.au
            Name Server ns1.enetica.com.au
            Name Server IP 203.17.36.33
            Name Server ns2.enetica.com.au
            Name Server IP 203.17.36.4

That probably explains the websites existence

Actually there are links from both sites to each other on the home page ???

Yes, we set this domain up for Superchips Australia/New Zealand when we were one of their first dealers here in Australia and assisting to establish their web presence.

If you want to get technical, do an nslookup on www.mybluefin.com.au, then perform a reverse lookup on the result.

              My results...

              C:\>nslookup
              Default Server:
              Address: 192.168.1.12

              > server 203.12.160.35
              Default Server: dns1.tpgi.com.au
              Address: 203.12.160.35

              Server: dns1.tpgi.com.au
              Address: 203.12.160.35

              Non-authoritative answer:
              Name: www.mybluefin.com.au
              Address: 213.228.195.160

              > 213.228.195.160
              Server: dns1.tpgi.com.au
              Address: 203.12.160.35

              Name: www.superchips.co.uk
              Address: 213.228.195.160

              >

As you can see, the hostname for www.mybluefin.com.au redirects to 213.228.195.160 which is the http://www.superchips.co.uk server which also hosts the content for the Australian market.

I actually bought a Bluefin (Skoda) from Gerard and found it could not be used due to encryption. All through the buying, testing and return Gerard gave me excellent service even meeting me after hours to initially supply the unit. Excellent customer service is all I can say and I would have no hesitation in buying from him again. During this testing period I spent about an hour on the phone with Bluefin UK trying to sort it out and they were excellent as well, a frustrating period because I could not use it but at the same time absolutely no hassles from a customer service perspective from either party.

As mentioned before , ive been using the Superchips locator list , for all Bluefin Stockists use MyBluefin.com.au, this one is intended more for the Bluefins. This wasnt explained to us very clearly when setting up so to clarify if you are looking for Bluefin use the Blufin site for the dealer, if you are looking overall for a remap use the Superchips site, and if your car is highlighted for a Bluefin then use the Bluefin site as there is more dealers there in most states.
                    Hope this clarifies.
                    Cheers

Installed superchips bluefin on my tdicaddy caddy.
The car immediately was massively different to drive.
Pulled up hills like no tomorrow

Got the "Tim the toolman bug" and wanted more power!

Installed a new fully enclosed airfilter and 2 1/4 inch cat back exhaust.

The thing is, I emailed superchips and for 50 pounds, they sent me a stage two map.

The little van is just awesome fun to drive now, even my wife takes it to work now and she has a mk6 Golf GTI Adidas (debadged of course)..

Defianately worth it, sells for like 600 dollars on WWW.modyourcar.com.au

Why do I get this feeling that they didn't analyse your data line by line and carefully optimise the tune specifically for your car!?

Yeah quite sure they didn't unless you specifically request them to. Same with other tuners unless you're getting a custom dyno tune.
