Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 118TSI, which has always supported extra programs, except when I got my APR you had to pick and pay for the extras; I paid $250 for security lockout. Now anyone can buy APR and get all of them for free, but I can't walk in and get them (I had the software reloaded once after a dealer wiped it and I asked Dean then). Not the worlds biggest problem but one of those head scratchers.
Some say he was the Stig... all we know is that he drives a VW Transporter.

    • It does not matter what you buy, there will always be a better deal sooner or later.
      MK4 GTI - Sold
      MK5 Jetta Turbo - Sold
      MK5 Jetta 2.Slow - Until it dies.

      • The switching on the Golf R will cost more - for those that require it.

So far the program switching is working a treat, but it appears there is not enough room for the Anti theft / security features though.

It will be great for those who want to play around with the race gas file at the drag strip

          Great initiative Guy.

Will it have a WMI file also?

            Hey Fab,

Due to WMI being illegal for street use in every state (unless engineered) we won't support it. We can do it for offroad use only or race cars though

              • Do you know if there is much power gain with the gas race tune and a tank full of race gas? I would hope so for the price of that stuff.

It will be an upgrade available for anyone with the existing APR Golf R Tune. 4 programs, Security, Anti-Theft, Lockout etc etc.

If all goes well, release will be January!
                    even if it's only stage1 <-> stock, i'm in.

                    • Bit of a bump (didn't want to start a new thread).

I was in contact with Volkspower recently and heard that Dean has left (although they can still contact him if need be). New owner Carl seems like a great guy. Some here found Dean to be a bit 'rough' so I figured it was worth sharing.

                      • Yep, Volkspower has changed hands, Dean now runs "Fast Stuff" and is our Master distributor in Melbourne. Brand new facility opening in the next couple of weeks.

                        Fast Stuff

Carl (new owner @ Volkspower) has many years in the automotive trade and is supported by ourselves & Dean with the products - rest of the trained staff is there unchanged
