Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.     Cheers Tigger. Although the car was purchased new, it's quiet a few years old now. The cost to go stage 2 (tune, controller, dp, IC, trans tune) seems to be getting more and more when the cars realistic value is $15k maybe?

      Now at 63k kms, the Tiguan is such fun to drive.
      Stage 2 IE tune is perfect.
      Have done a few mods now, such as TCU tune, larger S3 intercooler, Eibach springs, rear sway bar, front engine strut brace, DBA slotted rotors & extreme pads, etc. 230awhp
      I'll finish it off with shocks, cat-back system, and a nice little K04 turbo with the IE stage3 tune. Pretty happy with the Laborde Motorsports stage2 TCU tune for the DQ500. A big upgrade over stock....

        72,000kms, all going well.

        Just installed a K04 HPA hybrid turbo 2 days ago with the help of a mobile mechanic. Was a hot 39deg day, but got it done. Fits perfectly, however Ive now lost boost reading to my boost gauge. Line comes off the intake manifold. I haven't looked into it yet, just test driving and enjoying the IE Stage 3 K04 tune I flashed on afterwards (eventually, lost signal after the erase procedure so had a fright there that's for sure). The Tiguan is manic now, pulls hard through the gears with wheelspin in 3rd gear. Awaiting an upgraded CTS engine mount to hopefully help a bit.

        I'm expecting the 2.0tsi EA888 gen.2 engine should now be north of 330hp, I'll get it onto the dyno soon-ish but first need to do some datalog runs in 3rd on a straight out-of-the-way country road. So far so good, the IE K04 tune feels good
