I then stopped at Sportech to have my car's revised file done. V3.31 to replace my old V3.0 file! So much smoother, linear and feels stronger!! Sportech sorted me out quick here. Unfortunately Chad could not really log my car because of the ESP/ABS issues. He didn't want to chance it. We "logged" a bit with my FIS in the lower gears, but didn't want to chance logging high speed in 4th and we can't brake properly.

A very dirty R back home 300kms away the next day...

Which I remedied with a good valet again...

I have not had chance to really log the car. I want to have her dynoed with the new map, but unfortunately until I can get the issue with the ESP/ABS sorted out, I'm not going to chance it. My FIS shows 0 timing pull right through the rev range so everything is happy so far.

I have returned to the dyno...

Techie lined car up for me.

          The results:
Flywheel Power - Stock vs APR Stage 2+

Wheel Power - Stock vs APR Stage 2+ This puzzles me as there is no way a Golf R makes 133kw on the wheels in stock form. They normally make 160+kw on the wheels. And most Stage 2+ Rs are around 230wkw. So it's pretty safe to say that this dyno under reads by around +/- 30kw on the wheels for some reason.

And a video of how she performs on the streets..

Some more updates... Went to a place called Martine's Mag and Tyre that is also a few kms away from me...

Parked at Martine's Mag and Tyre to receive some new shoes! The wheels purchased were from Velocity Motoring - The VMR V705 (5 spokes FTW!!!)

Abdulah went through the necessary steps to ensure no rubbing occurs on my car. He performed the necessary work I requested and did so whilst ensuring my safety! The wheels with ET45 were machined 5mm to bring the offset to ET50. Inspection was first done to ensure the wheel does not hit the coilover. Inserts were then used on the wheel to strengthen the wheel although there was more than enough meat to not really require this...
I must say the workmanship and service from Abdulah is outstanding!! Martine's Mag and tyre FTMFW!!

Tyres on the wheels are Yokohama S-Drive 225/35R19s. Would prefer the Yokohama Neova Advan AD08, but that will be the next upgrade in the future! These S-Drives are far from poor quality!

Comparing the 19" Talladega to the 19" VMR V705s

My old Dunlop Sport Maxx GTs... Finished at 15000kms. About 4mm thread still left on the other pair though

            Fitment took place

Followed by a wheel alignment check. This was done as I lowered the front a little bit more. (by another 2 turns)

Quick snap taken after leaving Martine's Mag and Tyre...

On my way home.. Just could resist taking snaps!

Arrived home for some more snaps... Excuse the dirty front nose and wheel pics!

The car is in serious need of a valet now, which she will receive over the weekend!

                Looks awesome!

After all the mods what's it like to drive compared to when you bought it?

Its looking great Porra with the new stance and new shoes. Those VMR's really suit the Golf and i love a simple 5 spoke rim. They should be a lot easier to clean as well.

Nice to see you went with a classy silver rim too, instead of black which has been done to death.

The R's suspension has settled in very nicely. She is really low now and still drives so great!!

Only issue I have picked up is slight rubbing in the front fenders now. The only serious part is if I have a heavy friend in the car and we enter driveways I can hear the tyre scrape against the fender. This only happens when the tyre is turned and the driveway is seriously inclined. Luckily I only crawl into a driveway so there is no damage being done, but I Will have to look at rolling them some time soon. I also get some rubbing on the black fender liners when going around a bend pretty fast.. Which is acceptable there. They say you "Ain't dubbin if you aint rubbin"

Gave the car a good clean and some Meguiars magic. Now that I had chance to detail the wheels properly, I did pick up some small chips here and there that obviously come from the previous owner. I will have to refurb these rims some time as I am pretty much a perfectionist when a car must be clean.

Gave the car another good detail with my Meguiars products! She shines like a bottle now!

I made a video of my car doing 100-200km/h... This is on my 104 RON program. 12.5 seconds for a heavy AWD R. I am happy. With some weight saving mods, I should get her doing even better!!
