Repaired some wiring (front left abs sensor) - need to repair a fair bit more than just one sensor, but all is good.

Put the new electrical version of the blower box thingy in, which meant I could start running the wires throughout the car - but decided not to as yet due to the below

Got stuck into repairing more of the wiring. The fuse box was on the agenda tonight, got most of it done.
I don't really feel comfortable using heat shrink as some of the wires are the same colour. Some decent electrical tape applied neatly should do the trick.

I also need to mod my brake pedal to allow for DBW accelerator, so the dash will not be going back in until that is complete.

              • Done the rear beam poly bushings tonight, taking out the standard bushings are such a pita but this gave me a good chance to change the bent bracket.

Left - second hand but straight bracket
                Right - damaged bracket

All greased up so there are no funny noises.

                • Not a lot to update, rear beam is back on - need to repair a few more wires so I can run the rear ABS sensors.

Front end is also nearly rolling:

                  • Fuse box is wired up! Not going to put the dash in until I know most things are working (awaiting on new ABS module with ESP module as the connector is completely different)

I've mated the rear Bora loom with the Golf - few gremlins but I'll sort them out.

Todo with the wiring: swap headlight connectors from bora - golf. Wire up new stalks with cruise control and 'mode' button. Install fuse for heated seats.

                        Thanks mate!

Hmm what do I have to report on...

                        Have mainly been repairing wiring
I have finally received the flywheel - was supposed to have come with my clutch but they forgot to send it .
Got a 12v vr6 Sachs SMF and clutch combo (02J box) - don't plan on going turbo, would be something like ITB's & standalone if I wanted to step it up a bit.

One of my rear brake lines had cracked, so went to the wreckers yesterday afternoon while it was raining and got a replacement...that was good fun!

Last night, I replaced the ABS unit - moved up to the ABS unit with ESP to suit the 4motion loom.
Problem with that: brake lines are mounted completely different at the unit - I managed to replace all the front lines (master cylinder - unit, brakes - unit) and one of the rear lines (one was too short to 'bend', luckily this was the cracked one which worked out well).

Also fitted the flywheel and ran the wiring looms to the back section. I am pretty confident with the loom now - rear section has 1 gremlin - left parker is always on so may need to swap around a wire - everything else seems to be working!

Couple of things to do tonight, fit the clutch, bolt gearbox to engine & replace rear ABS plugs (they're different on a 4mo).
