Andddd it's dark...
Engine bay is already gutted, garage is getting messy - will need to move some things into the shed.
Tomorrow nights plan is to get it back to be a rolling car (rotors & wheels) so I can start to clean the engine bay & take out the front section of the interior.

Keep it up.
Can't report on much - waiting on quite a few parts.
Seeing as though I'm getting all the required looms, wiring won't be a problem but I'm starting to think about bleeding the brakes with no/part fluid in the lines - have had a low pedal before and don't want that again. My best bet may be to get the car towed to a vw specialist or vw themselves to hook up a machine.
Gave the engine bay a degrease, scrub and gerni...so much cavity wax everywhere (possible previous owner front smash, have never seen so much cavity wax on places that it doesn't need to be). Also needed to clean up some CV grease as I had a split boot.
Friday night I'll attempt to take out the dashLast edited by MCiN7; 15-08-2013, 09:00 AM.

You can borrow my power bleeder if you want Matt?
but why would you have low fluid in the lines? you've already swapped brakes havn't you?

If I fill a Power Bleeder up with a few litres of fluid it may be okay, but I wonder if it's just easier for VW to hook up their machine.
I just don't want a low pedal again

You can get a good pedal just letting the fluid flow under gravity, if you have got tons of air in the pipes. Then go around the system again and start at the master cylinder which everyone forgets about.

So I started doing some things tonight (taking off some trim panels) and was going to call it a night, went inside and had a think, then went back in the garage and got things done.
Seeing as though I was going to take out the dash tomorrow night, I can proceed to take out the seats and follow the wiring loom to wherever it leads.
If it doesn't fit, make it
