My stuff has always arrived in about a week from GAP (using the expideted shipping) USPS seems to take a bit longer though

Since the GAP order didn't arrive, I had to get the car something else for Christmas. So headed down to Repco for their 25% off store wide sale (I was disappointed Supercheap didn't have the usual 20% off).
Picked up a jack, 4 stands, oil, oil filter wrench, coolant, injector cleaner and a car cover. Will jack it up, pull the rest of the splash guards off and clean under them, get all the dirt and grass out. Hopefully the GAP order comes this week while I'm on holidays so that I can get a full service done.

Question re: braided brake lines. I was going to pick some up when I order the pads/discs next Monday, however, since I'm planning on running mk3 GL discs/pads when I find some 2nd hand hubs/calipers for the fronts, does that mean I need to still use mk2 lines, or get mk3 GL lines?
On the ECS site they say DOT approved, is that all I need for them to be legal on my car here in Aus?

Also, if anyone has any mk3 GL calipers/hubs for the fronts, please let me know
Also, any suggestions on height/damper adjustable coilovers (probably from ECS too) would be appreciated.Last edited by AusScare; 04-01-2011, 09:09 PM.

It's pretty hard to find "legal" braided brake lines.
Best to have them made locally so they're compliant with ADR 42.
Braided Hoses
Same hose will most likely work for MK2 and MK3 calipers.79 MK1 Golf Wreck to Race / 79 MK1 Golf The Red Thread / 76 MK1 Golf Kamei Race Car

Thanks for the link, there's a seller near my place, I'll give them a call tomorrow.
Also, a friend has just mentioned that since I'm getting the car roadworthied, will coilovers be ok for that?
The main reason I'm asking about the legality of this stuff is for when I get a roadworthy for it, and also in the event I have an accident and they try and void my insurance if I hit someone because of some part.

Not sure what passes for roadworthy in Qld but I reckon you'll be right if you set the ride height at stock for the inspection. I've heard tell that some inspectors like to see a grub screw or something as a secondary lock mechanism on the adjusting rings.
I had some braided hoses made by one of the companies on that site and the prices were quite reasonable.79 MK1 Golf Wreck to Race / 79 MK1 Golf The Red Thread / 76 MK1 Golf Kamei Race Car

Ok nice, sounds good. When I get this stuff installed I'll ask a few people around to check it out, people that have had a bit of experience checking out all the bits and pieces that are required for a RWC. Same with blue plating (engineering) it as a two seater. Hopefully I can get all that done in the same day..

nah dont need spring compressors for the rear. I didn't atleast, just needed to swap the bushing from the old one to the new one. (or if you had new, just whack em straight on) but shoudn't be an issue.
I'd drop both sides out at the same time, pretty easy that way, although it'd help to have an assistant put the nut on the top of the new thread as you offer up the new coilover. Should make more sense once you're doing it, good luck!
