After nearly a month a waiting for it...
Here is little story to tell you about all the mischief.
It departed UK in late June and had stopped transit in Paris FedEx facility. I few weeks went by and it was still in the FedEx facility, in Paris. I contacted FedEx right away to see what was going on. It was reported as 'Lost'. I couldn't believe it. A investigation was held to find it. After a few days later, I get a phone call from FedEx telling me that the dash was found. It was shipped over that night.
It arrived at my door step about 3 days after, wrapped in FedEx paper! Once I had ripped of the paper, I found the dash there in one piece, lucky! But, it didn't end there. The seller had taking off the trim that surrounds the instruments so the dash could fit in a smaller box, for less postage cost. The trim was never found in the package FedEx sent me. I contact FedEx and they told me the original package was opened up and then re-packed by FedEx. This is where the trim got lost. The seller contact me and he wasn't happy about this either. He is going to send me one of his spare trim from a S1 dash. Very kind of him to do so.
Welcome to the joy of importing parts from afar that others pack !!!!
Make sure you take out basic insurance with the mailing / couriering of the package, has saved my wallet a few times
Insurence is a must!
Can't believe FedEx packs package's so weak! It was like a big plastic bag over it. No bubble wrap or anything like that. Sellers not to blame, I believe he spent quite a long time packing it up to make sure it got here safe.
