Thats why we had to use custom rods. If we were to use 144mm rods, it would push the piston down= to less compression like you said. Thats if you were using a 82.5mm piston. Audi 1.9 has a lower pin position in the piston, hence why it wont lose compression using a 144mm rod.Originally posted by Oneofthegreats View Post
This may put the pistons down the bore (with increased deck height/more clearance volume = less compression!) if you plan on using a 1.8L crank & 144mm rodsLast edited by 16v_kid; 29-06-2010, 05:05 PM.Audi S3 8L - Stroker GTX3582 700bhp+

i've always been curious about the twin master cylinder set up... where are you sourcing it from if you don't mind me asking?
Where not going to be running the twin master cylinder yet. This is a temporally fun thing. Car will be striped to bare metal to complete resto, and go on from there. Then we will install twin master cylinders and bit and pieces like that.

I thought this was a story on your so called "little makeover" on your car Gordan, the subject seems to have turned against you having to prove what model you actually have.Originally posted by 16v_kidIts GTI.
Someone deleted a few posts here. What happened?
Just keep going on the makeover subject, you dont have to prove to me at least whether its a GLi or GTI. I dont really care for one, its not standard anyway.
