Well, I gave up trying to get anything done on the Caddy due to the workload last week.
I went into the workshop today but was barraged with people dropping off cars for next week and the phone kept ringing. It was sunday for crying out loud! Due to the workshop being full of dead kombis I had to leave my car out the front. Thus, people were doing drivebys and saw that I was in there with the door down!
I gave up and had the arvo in peace!!! No more progress and next weekend I will be in Sydney so its slowed down a tad!Par 6 Golf GTI. Coilovers, BBS CH Wheels, APR'd

Should be an interesting little project there. Any plans on a respray to a slightly more attractive colour?
Also with 100L fuel tank, surely we can go something like a VR6 motor?
Looking forward to following the buildup.
Cheers,

I dont reckon you realise how busy my business is 16v kid!! true...
Trent, I will be resprayng it mate, or, if possible maybe getting this one done in 2pack. Vr6 is too heavy for a mk1 of mine!! I got good competition results using a 9A motor so I know what sort of thing to expect. They are a great motor and by playing with the cam timing you can gain more power. Ask Revnit, he has my old motor these days.
The wiring is completely different in the US Golf/Rabbits which is proving a bit of a brain tester and one that I will figure without interuptions at work! Thats what I was expecting to tackle today but with people banging on the windows and peering in looking for me, it made it very hard to concentrate.
I joined the vwcaddy forum the other night and there is a fella in the UK thats moving to Qld late this year. He is bringing his 2 Caddy Sports with him!
Cheers Trent, By the way, the wheels were a bit small diameter wise for the Caddy and have been sold. 14s are the minimum for it.

Tis a shame to hear that you're too busy Andrew, although, good to hear business is doing well! haha
I start at the tennis tomorrow, so that's 2 weeks of full time 8-10 hour days! bugger, and I'm a little bit behind where I'd like to be too but that's for another thread..

Great
wow thats a great effort! i wondered what you would find to do next with that 16v i saw on your garage floor...
I sold the 9a on to a couple of chaps who were great with what they were doing with golfs and they decided were putting the engine in for the vw nationals 2 weeks later. well keep up the awesome effort hope it turns out to be a trusty work mate too !!

The phone wouldnt stop ringing this arvo too so one poor kombi customer will have to wait at least another day. And the Caddy will have to wait a little longer!!
