Thanks Tim and Chris, normal thing, if something needs to be done then its a case of doing it. I lost motorvation for a little while but its back at the moment so i have to make an effort. Once the weather cools down it should be easier too. we have been spared the hot weather this weekend so that has helped. The rack is in and the firewall hole is lined up perfectly as is the universal joints on the steering shaft. Now for some welding.
I think the hardest thing to do now apart from the wiring is drilling 2 speedo cable holes which will be tricky. By the way the clutch cable hole in the 83 model ji reinforced. They should have done that from the start.
Looking good Andrew, it's supprising how much you can get done with no interuptions - Did you hide the GTI in the work shop this time away from passing traffic?
No, I have the GTI out the front mate but maybe everyones at the wooden boat festival or the Hobart cup???
I have a broken V6 Bora 4motion hogging the entry to the workshop and yep, another dead Kombi here!!!!
All good in the way of no interuptions though thank goodness!!
Trent, mate,
Been a hectic year and the Caddy is sitting in the workshop in the bay normally reserved for the GTI so it is on my mind too! Easter was the weekend to get some colour around the windscreen after repairing the rust but I had to pop over to Sydney to service a Mk4. I have borrowed a truck this weekend to clean the crap out of the workshop as it has piled up huge time not having a ute to do tip runs in.
I might get some pics today of my lack of progress!!!
Cheers mate, hope to see you at the nats??
Andrew
Unfortunately not this year mate. Saving all my holidays and as much money as I can for 5 weeks holiday in Europe at the end of this year (plus I keep buying mods for the R).
Hope to make it next year.
Pics are always awesome too.
Cheers,
Trent
Thats right Jarred and congratulations on winning the competition of beating me with finishing your Golf mate.
The Beetle at the back of the workshop has been sold and should be leaving soon. The tarp will not be coming out to cover the Caddy so as to make me see it constantly and thiink about a quiet time in the workload.
could do with a touch of a recession down here!!!!!!
Andrew
its may not be finished yet, but at least your coming to Nats!
VW: it aint just a car, its a way of life There are few things more satisfying in life than finding a solution to a problem and implementing it

No updates mate, its still sitting in the workshop taking up the GTIs spot.
I guess I need some pushing and some motorvation to get onto it.
I am supposed to be getting rid of my beetle in there so that will be one less VW to think about.
Cheers, Andrew
