Umm, have you ever seen a mk1???
Na really, like the first post says, we're trying to preserve motoring history from wasting away. Plus Joe and I both want one or two to restore.
It'd just be nice to see a few more nice mk1's around. There's stuff all in Perth on the road these days, and most of the ones that are driving around are pretty average condition-wise.

Right then. Here's the 3 door. It has had a refurb not so long ago so is in fairly good nick, but the interior and especially the dash is completey buggered.
And theres a few bog areas and rust under the passngr side gutter.
It still has a week of rego left and Joe drove it from Armadale to Wangara (an hour's drive) in 30 degree heat with no real dramas - albeit on 3 cylinders the whole way!
Early bonnet...

and now the 5-door. I love this colour!! Its straight and original so its not hiding anything. It spent years near the beach so we'll see how extensive the rust is before we decide what to do with it. Maybe dump it and rat it?? It does have a roofrack, hmmm
It is still registered and runs fine. It was the PO's daily!!!

That 2 door is definately the car i looked at 3 + years ago, chick in freo was asking $1500 for it, had only one tiny bubble of rust under the drip rail back then.
Guess thats how it goes when cars get resprayed without an effective corrossion repair proceedure in place...
We picked up the light blue 5door today and brought it back to the shop. It was the most fun i've had in a car for a long time!!!
Ran beatifully and goes pretty hard as well. Surprised some commowhores on the freeway
The roofrack has been kept by the old owner tho so maybe not a rat after all...
The rusty bits dont actually look too bad so it should be a good keeper.
