It will be a typo Greg I'll put money on it being a 168 not 188. that 188 terminal speed is sort of roughly what you would see with between 250~270 atw. It doesn't matter what your doing mid track, start, whatever.. it will always be very close, that's terminal speed remember not times. Tim if you wheelspin half track your terminal speed will be less unless there was something very very wrong with the gear ratio being used beforehand

I asked the driver on the day - both runs, 4wd spin off the line and 188km/h on each. I even had to ask to see the sheet and have asked Again since prior to putting the advert in Motor quoting them. I've asked if there's any footage of it

It's why I asked, because the ET HP calculation, theoretical as it is, comes out to 400odd hp, and that simply can't be right.....

The only thing ive seen cause inflated trap speeds is wheelspinning half the track. I cant imagine that would be the case with an awd car though.

The drivers were saying there can be differences between true gps quarter miles and your normal Xmas tree lights and 'go' set up but there can clearly be big differences on different dynos too so who knows.
We were very pleased with the car's performance anf feedback for our stage one package either way

13.2 @ 116.8 would mean a lot of wheel spin usually, of course this shouldn't be the case for a Golf R. What was the 60ft time and what rpm (if LC or launch)/tyre pressure?

Why is there so much speculation . I personally dont beleive it based upon all the other cars and what MPH they run . If you want to beleive it then I ran 120 mph out of a KO4 , which is higher than Guys stage 4 car on race gas , and I was running pump fuel . If your not sure go out to the drags and get a proper 1/4 mile time and mph , you'll also get the 1/8 mile time and mph as well as the 60 ft time

I was told launch was only about 4000rpm as it was a clients car.

The reason I say its likely to be 168kmhr is I know what all the cars in the 180~190kW atw range will do and thats pretty much 168~170kmph or roughly 104~106 mph what ever the 1/4 mile time. With the level2 2+ cars they all do between 106~110 mph depending on the temps (with sebs being an exception @ a true 113) and it really doesn't make much difference what the flavour of tune, this is only 170~177kmhr. Either it was a typo OR the timing gear they used was foobar. Take it to the creek or where ever and you'll see the same proper TS again and again and again. If I ever get a 177 kmph terminal speed with my current pretty full on tune I'll be a very happy boy
