Scirocco R Windscreen

Hi Guys,

Today was driving along the Eastern Distributor and out of nowhere a rock comes flying straight at me, just my luck it hit the edge of my roof and the windscreen, so not only have I a beautiful chip on the roof but also a 23cm crack on my windscreen

My question is does my car insurance cover this, I do not have the option of glass repair which I believe may not be repairable anyway?

Does any one know the cost of a new windscreen and should I get a genuine replacement from VW.

I recently had mine repaired for $150 but O'Brien said I was looking at around $790 to replace the windscreen

Made some enquiries could have got it repaired for $99 but because it has cracked from the edge it can only be replaced.

So far best price is $540 includes installation and sensor.
