Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hi, just wondering if anyone can shed light on this.

How do you work out what performance will suit the mk3 octavia rs. Can you assume that if it fits a mk6 golf gti it will fit the skoda?

Specifically looking at a short shifter, sway bars and perhaps front and rear control arms.

You mean Mk7 GTI right? Short shifter would be identical to a Mk7 GTI, front sway bar "should" be the same but its likely the rear one is different. Front control arms would be the same but once again the rear ones are likely to be different.

Gti rear sway bar fits as myself and several others have them
Just make sure you don't order anything for the R
Steering, suspension, engine parts are all pretty much interchangeable
Exhaust down pipe is also a direct bolt in, cat back different story
